I removed the 'lynching deaths in Alabama' category because I don't see how this is a lynching. Facts of the matter are:
Reynolds opened fire on the sheriff attempting to serve a warrant.
He barricaded himself in his home and subsequently killed several others including some deputies.
The militia was called in and fired upon the house.
In an attempt to get him out of the barricaded house, the house was lit on fire.
He was shot while attempting to escape the burning house and died. He had his rifle in hand when he was killed.
Now, true, the onlookers then looted his body for "souvenirs" as was common to do to lynching victims etc in those days. But that does not make it a lynching. Feel free to disagree, but please post your reasoning here if you decide to re-add the category. --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû(blah?)05:19, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per Necrothesp. After the passage of 121 years, this historical event continues to be referenced via Reynolds' name, although the proposed redlinked header can be certainly created as a redirect. —Roman Spinner(talk • contribs)06:40, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
