Squad Confusion
[edit]There has been a lot of confusion over who is in the new team's squad. While Andrea Masi may have been named in the official press release, and decided to join London Wasps, I don't undertand why the remainder of that squad - http://www.ercrugby.com/eng/news/18452.php - should not be the basis for the squad section of the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flyhalffactory (talk • contribs) 15:15, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
The squad listed by planetrugby is totally at odds with the Zebre official one. As the Zebre one has been proved to be incorrect (through Masi) and the ERC one is taken directly from the Zebre site, I contended it best to wait until the dispute was resolved beyond question. I provided referenced for all signings and disputed signings, there is clearly major mis-information out there about these signings. Cfs198 (talk) 18:22, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
I understand where you are coming from and am happy to wait until the official Zebre website is launched, and use the list provided by them. I think the confusion stems from a list of prospective players being leaked, including players who were speculated to be joining the new team by Italian newspapers and blogs. It demonstrates a lack of care on behalf of the likes of Planet Rugby and Scrum, for failing to check facts. It is an annoyance that information, that is effectively common knowledge in the Italian press cannot be shared regarding new players. Let's hope this team last longer than Aironi, so all the confusion is worth it. Flyhalffactory (talk 20:23, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
I e-mailed ERC Rugby and planetrugby asking they confirm their information and sources. Neither replied! Cfs198 (talk) 21:18, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
That's disappointing, but I suspect translation is an issue for English news outlets regarding Zebre. This http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/DSPFC5foqa9/Zebre+Rugby+Portrait+Session/OILTzw2LvX- would appear to put a lot of speculation to bed, on a few of the players who are in doubt as having signed for them. Permit Players?
[edit]Can someone add a definition / explanation of what a "Permit player" is? Hamish59 (talk) 19:08, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
