Only states which are "often regarded as satisfying the declarative theory of statehood" or are "recognised as a sovereign state by at least one UN member state" should be included. Reliable sources which verify that a proposed addition meets one of these criteria must be included. If no such sources are referenced, the state will be removed. You are encouraged to discuss proposed additions to the list on the talk page, as they are often quite controversial.
