Purpose and features
[edit]These templates hopefully make lists of red links more workable or actionable. They do a few things as a matter of convenience:
- Unify the format into a sortable table.
- Provide resources to quickly check the number of red links to an article and see where they are coming from.
- Check for drafts that may already exist for a target article. For drafts corresponding to article titles with a large number of red links, consider adding
{{Highly wanted draft}}
to the article while it is a draft. - Check for previous or current deletion discussions that may be relevant to (re-)creating an article.
Parameters
[edit]{{Redlink info table}}
has no named parameters. It should only be used to wrap instances of {{Redlink info row}}
. The following parameters are available to use with {{Redlink info row}}
- 1
- Article title
- 2
- Number of links pointing to this article from the article namespace only.
- 3
- Date that the number of red links was last updated. This should generally be the number of links from the article space only. Since it would be intensive for both clients and WP to frequently check the number of backlinks to a page for long lists of red linked pages, this is typically updated manually.
- lang
- One primary language can be indicated with the Language code which will be turned into a interlanguage link behind the article title. Note that such links will always appear blue even if the target page does not exist.
- project
- Name of a Wikiproject that might be the primary interest in this red link. Appears at the start of the "Notes" column so that when sorted, red links that might be related by project appear together.
- notes
- General notes that appear last in the "Notes" column.
