As a Finance Broker, Stratton Finance is accredited by over 50 lenders and insurers, some with exclusive agency.
History
[edit]Stratton Finance was first established by Rob Chaloner in 1998 as a specialist motor finance broker. [2]
The one-person operation relied initially on referrals from a Melbourne- based Land Rover dealership, but word of mouth quickly spread and growth saw finance assistants employed to meet the demand.
Strong growth continued over the following years, and in 2004 Stratton expanded the range of services offered to clients to include business equipment finance, heavy vehicle finance, marine finance and property finance, as well as a range of insurance products.
In 2005 the company expanded its local presence into Queensland with the opening of a new office in Brisbane.[2]
In 2007 saw the continuation of Stratton's growth, with the company's head office moving to new office facilities in South Melbourne.
In 2008 Stratton expanded further with the acquisition of Lowest Rates Finance, a Sydney-based finance broker, with the Lowest Rates business becoming Stratton’s new local office in Sydney.
The Stratton Finance Franchise Program was launched in 2009, with the first franchise opening in July in Joondalup, WA.[3]
2011 saw the design and launch of the Stratton Finance Vehicle Procurement Program and the continued development of the Stratton Franchise program, taking the total number of franchises to 16 offices. John Grant joined Stratton in 2011 as a Chief Executive Officer, and is responsible for the continued development and growth of the company.
Products and Services
[edit]Stratton offers clients a complete range of car finance products- Finance Lease, Commercial Hire Purchase, Chattel Mortgage, Novated Lease, Fully Maintained Novated Lease, Consumer Loan and Personal Loans. While predominantly focused on vehicle finance and insurance, Stratton also offers finance for property, business equipment and machinery, agricultural and mining equipment, heavy vehicles, marine-craft and more.
As an additional service for customers, in 2011 Stratton Finance launched a Vehicle Procurement Program, which uses an extensive dealer network to source vehicles for customers at fleet prices.
Stratton Finance Consultants and accredited franchisees represent over 50 finance lenders, including major lenders Alphera Financial Services, Macquarie Leasing, Esanda (ANZ), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), GE Money, and Liberty Financial Services.
Franchising Program
[edit]Stratton Finance has company-owned offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and a franchise network which operates in metropolitan and regional areas around Australia.
A Stratton Finance Franchise provides independent finance brokers with the opportunity to develop their own local business with the support and recognition of top industry brand and reputation.[4]
Franchisees are provided with a complete franchise system- finance leads, access to a wide range of finance and insurance products and access to Stratton’s proprietary IT platforms. [5]
The franchise program, launched in 2009, now includes 16 offices nationwide, with plans for continued expansion in 2012.
Advertising and Sponsorship
[edit]In 2003 Stratton launched their first major online advertising campaign, a finance partnership with carsales.com.au.
Currently, with a major focus on online advertising and internet campaigns, Stratton also holds exclusive finance partnerships with major automotive websites Drive.com.au [6], CarPoint.com.au [7] and RedBook.com.au [8].
In February 2012 Stratton Finance announced the sponsorship of Tri Alliance, the largest triathlon coaching squad in Victoria, and arguably Australia.
