Amanda Brightly is, as the name implies, bright.

That is why Wikipedia is her first GoTo when delving below the surface of a Google search.

Her effervescent personality lights up a room, brings a sparkle to the eye, and a smile to the face of those in her presence.

Of course, all of this is learned behavior, as is her skill at CSR work.

"Good morning! May I help you?"

"Oh, you received the wrong item? Well, let me send you the correct one. Yes, I will go, personally, to the warehouse and make sure. No, I don't mind that it is in another state. I like to travel! And, you don't have to return the elephant food, your cat might like it."

As you can see, Amanda can be fun while punctiliously ensuring facts and typos are corrected. "Words should be correct and people should be happy," she says. And, while she often wakes repeating her motto like a mantra, it is so true on so many levels. Not surprisingly, she is most gaily determined when no one else seems bothered.

Demonstrating her bubbly personality and confidence in being the brightest star, she actually thought she coined the term "gaily determined." In fact it was used in a court case to describe the process of definitively identifying a new owner of property held in an estate. The term may be found, also, in Sand in My Eyes, where the two words are juxtaposed to describe the first impression members of the club had on a new-comer, "Most were so competent, so gaily determined, that Woodward should be a cultural center and - I thought - so intellectual...." [1]

Amanda's new favorite lapel pin. She wonders why she does not see it more often.
