Sameer Sultan is a junior at Yale University studying English and Computer Science. He has a broad range of interests including, but not limited to, product management, writing, intramural sports, going to the gym, and food. When he's not doing these things, you can find Sultan manning the aux cord in his common room with his friends or looking for new adventures to go on. He dreams of leaving a lasting impact on the world and is excited to give mentorship whenever he is can.
Early Life

Sameer Sultan was born in Houston, Texas on November 15th, 2001. He is the son of Parvez K. Sultan MD and Dr. Farah T. Sultan. He is the oldest of three: Sophia (18) and Arman (12). His ancestry is Indian. The family moved to Birmingham, Alabama when Sameer was little and he went to the Highlands Day School for the first few years of his life.
From early in his life, Sultan was incredibly welcoming and excited to be part of whatever community he was in. At five years old in school, he was the only one to include the new kid in class.This spirit has stayed with him for his whole life. He was gifted at chess from a very young age, winning championships as a seven year old, and eventually becoming fifth in the nation when he was thirteen.

From the fifth grade, he enrolled in the Altamont School, where he would meet friends for life - The Think Tank. Besides being absolute chillers, Think Tank members were notorious for pushing each other and genuinely looking out for each other. Sameer often hosted friends at his home for some of the most memorable times of his life. Another important person in his life was Latin teacher Buck Crowe, who handed Sultan the Latin Prize that he had won at graduation. One phrase that sticks in Sultan’s mind is: “What would Buck Crowe think?”
Sultan was incredibly involved in high school. Not only was he enthusiastically teaching classmates at Chess Club, he also played tennis in and outside of school. He was an avid enjoyer of the saxophone in the school band, and he loved playing solos on the stage. One of the most rewarding extracurriculars for Sultan was debate, in which his team went to nationals and he perfected his public speaking skills. He still today fondly remembers debate as life changing.
During the COVID pandemic, Sultan was still involved in his community. He did all his AP exams even when they were moved online, and joined online Zooms for debates and competitions. He was determined not to take a gap year before entering college, trusting in the community he would forge in a COVID year.
College
[edit]Sultan matriculated to Yale University in the fall of 2020. He quickly realized that his two strongest passions were Computer Science and English, and pursued those two majors. Sultan has joined a multitude of clubs, from the Yale Computer Society to Danceworks to Yale Undergraduate Venture Group. He has loved college and his friends are all extremely grateful to know him.
In the spring of Sultan’s sophomore year at Yale he worked on Repco, an anonymous classroom feedback tool, with brothers-in-arms Andrew Wang and Edmund Zheng. The three obsessed over the platform day-by-day and became incredibly close. Together they are known as the “boys”.
In the summer of 2022, Sultan chose to study abroad in the London School of Economics. Being in a family that loves to travel, he was especially drawn to the idea of studying abroad for the summer. Part of this summer was a grueling yet rewarding process recruiting for consulting with brother-in-arm Andrew Wang. The two cased every day thousands of miles away from each other in their quests in consulting. Realizing consulting was not the perfect fit for him, he worked extremely hard on PM consulting. When all was said and done, he signed an offer with Duolingo to be an APM for Summer 2023.
