Imagem Production Music

[edit]

Imagem Production Music, formerly Boosey & Hawkes Production Music, is the library music arm of the Imagem group. Founded by Boosey & Hawkes in 1936[1], it is one of the world's oldest production music libraries, considered by many to be the first to offer music for use as stock music in films and broadcast that was especially written and recorded, rather than recordings of existing classical works[2], along with Bosworth[3]. The company's Cavendish Music label, which holds most of the original Boosey & Hawkes copyrights, represents the themes to some well known BBC TV and radio programmes, including Ski Sunday ("Pop Looks Bach" by Sam Fonteyn) and The Archers ("Barwick Green" by Arthur Wood).
