Elliot F. Carol, an American hedge fund manager, is the Founder of Lumina Investments, LLC. Carol is believed to be the youngest registered fund manager and has received extensive media coverage for his youth in the hedge fund industry. ^[1] the sub-prime mortgage bond market (via CDO's),^[2] and the European sovereign-debt crisis.

Life

Elliot F. Carol was born in Washington D.C. on March 14th, 1991 to David Carol; lawyer and Amtrak executive, and Karen Franklin; Congressional disability lobbyist. The family moved to Old Lyme, Connecticut while Carol was an infant where him and his younger brother, Brenden Carol, were raised. When Carol was 14 years old, the family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon graduation at Providence High School in Charlotte, Elliot traveled across Europe and briefly studied at the University of Salamanca. He then returned to the United States to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington. After his first semester at UNCW, Carol moved to New York City for a summer internship at Bloomberg L.P. before returning to Wilmington, North Carolina. He then began forming Lumina Investments.

Carol is currently Founder, Chairman & President of Lumina Investments. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of North Carolina Wilmington Entrepreneurship Center and engages extensively within the greater Wilmington area and North Carolina business community.
