The lead section of a Wikipedia article is the section before the first heading. The table of contents, if displayed, generally appears between the lead section and the first subheading.
Rule of thumb: If a topic deserves a heading or subheading, then it deserves short mention in the lead.
The lead section should contain up to four paragraphs, depending on the length of the article, and should provide a preview of the main points the article will make, summarizing the primary reasons the subject matter is interesting or notable. The lead should be capable of standing alone as a concise overview of the article, should be written in a clear and accessible style, should be carefully sourced like the rest of the text, and should encourage the reader to want to read more. The following table has some general guidelines for the length of the lead section:
Whatever happened, it happened for good. Whatever is happening, is also happening for good. Whatever will happen, that too will be for good. What have you lost for which you weep? What did you bring with you, which you have lost? What did you produce, which has perished? You did not bring anything when you were born. Whatever you have taken, it is taken from Here. Whatever you have given, it is given Here. You came empty handed and you will go the same way. Whatever is yours today, will be somebody else's tomorrow And it will be some other's later. This change is the law of the universe And the theme behind my creation.
-Krishna.
You shall not steal nor kill, Nor speak a lie, Be angry with no one, Neither scorn another man; And never glorify thyself and insult others These are the means to inward purity These are the means to outward purity This is the way to please the Lord.
-Basava
Truth is our father, Truth is our mother, Truth is our kith and kin, Swerve from the path of righteousness And almighty shall never be impressed
The power of knowledge destroys ignorance;
The power of light dissipates darkness;
The power of truth is foe of all untruth;
The sharana's experience of god is the sole cure of worldliness;
- Lord Kudala Sangamadeva - Basavanna
Don't rob, Don't kill, Never ever lie
Don't get angry, Don't think negative about others
Don't self describe, Don't tease others
This is the way of self respect, this is the way to get respected by the world.
This is the way of impressing my lord Koodala sangam deva. -Basavanna
Quote: "Wikipedia is the celebration of democracy. Probably the only place in the world where democracy actually exists now. Where you have the real power to bring about a change, a power which you have, just becaue your contribution is genuine, not because you were born in a particular family, or because you occupy a certain office, or because you have got money, or even because you have a university degree. So here, you can do things if you CAN do things." [Courtesy by WP User:Austria156]
