Adolf Wiktor Weiss (Polish: Adolf Wiktor Weiss, November 5, 1858, Yaroslav — 1936, Lviv) was an architect. He created works in the styles of historicism and Art Nouveau.
Biography
[edit]Adolf Wiktor Weiss was born on November 5, 1858, in Yaroslav. He received special education at the Lviv Polytechnic, graduating in 1884. From 1885 to 1888, he worked as an assistant there. Since 1889, he has been working as an architect. In 1913, he became a professor at Lviv Art and Industrial School.[1] From 1886 he was a member of the Polytechnic Society in Lviv.
- Works
- The villa on Samchuk Street, 5, was made in the style of historicism (1894).
- In co-authorship with the Hospital of the Bilinsky Foundation on Smal-Stotsky Street (1891—1897).
- Residential complex at 4 Konyskogo Street (1898).
- Kasimir Badeni Palace in Busk was under construction. Sculptor - Petro Garasymovych (1898).
- In co-authorship with Władysław Sadłowski and PetroTarnavetskyi, the Lviv Ivana Trusha College of Decorative and Applied Arts at 47 Snopkivska Street was designed in the Art Nouveau style. The project was developed in 1906, and construction lasted from 1907 to 1909.[2]
- Residential building at 16 Horodotska Street(1913).
- Palace of Stanislav Badeni in Radekhiv.
- House of the Postal Employees' Union, 9 Yaponska Street (1930—1934).
