Chouhan, Hemantkumar A., D. Parthasarathy, and Sarmistha Pattanaik. "Urban Development, Environmental Vulnerability and CRZ Violations in India: Impacts on Fishing Communities and Sustainability Implications in Mumbai Coast." Environment, Development and Sustainability 19.3 (2017): 971-85. ProQuest. Web. 21 Nov. 2024[1]
  • This article gives a overview of the impacts of the act not really sure how useful it will be but it might have something to use if I dig deeper This article seems reliable there is no bias or any affiliation with any group
  • This article is from a respectable source as well as being relevant to the topic It should be useful if I dig deeper into the information to find useful pieces. Jadhav, H.V., and V.M. Bhosale. Environmental Protection and Laws, Global Media, 2005. ProQuest Ebook Central, https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/umichigan/detail.action?docID=3011113.[2]
  • This is the actual law which is what I mainly want to focus on so this will be the main article that I use. It one just states the law and than also talks about the implications of the laws.
    • This source is from a book able environmental law which is reliable.
    • This is going to be my main source
    • Overall I think this is my best source there is no opinion being pushed its just stating information about the topic such as the actual act itself which should be useful in presenting information. Ramachandran, A., B. Enserink, and A. Balchand."Coastal Regulation Zone Rules in Coastal Panchayats (Villages) of Kerala, India Vis-à-Vis Socio-Economic Impacts from the Recently Introduced Peoples’ Participatory Program for Local Self-Governance and Sustainable Development." Ocean & Coastal Management, vol. 48, no. 7, 2005, pp. 632-653.[3]
  • This article seems reliable I'm unsure how useful it will be information wise
  • There seems to be no bias in the article just presenting the affects and impacts. Im not 100% sure how useful the article will be however the information seems reliable im just unsure how I can fit any of it into the wikipedia article. Gupta, J. P. "Land use Planning in India." Journal of Hazardous Materials, vol. 130, no. 3, 2006, pp. 300-306.[4]
  • Has some information on the actually implementation of the act.
  • Seems like a okay source probably won't use it for anything other than verifiable facts if any.
  • This is by far my weakest source to be truthful Im not sure if I will even use it but it does give me some ways to jump off and hopefully find better sources more useful sources.

Review

[edit]
  • Jha-Thakur, Urmila, and Fatemeh Khosravi. "Beyond 25 years of EIA in India: Retrospection and Way Forward." Environmental Impact Assessment Review, vol. 87, 2021, pp. 106533.[5]
    • this is a retrospective look at the act after 25 years might have some good info
    • Feels very reliable it seems to be more focused on the law aspect of the reflecition on the act rather than anything opinionated but not sure how I can incorporate it into the article.

News Article

[edit]

"MPCB: Promoting Greater Environment Awareness: Earth Day: A DNA Promotional Feature." DNA : Daily News & Analysis, Apr 22 2011, ProQuest. Web. 21 Nov. 2024 .

  • News article that talks about something related to the Act
  • This wont be much help reguarding the wikipedia project however I believe it might have some useful pieces that I can use to continue my search and find better sources.
  • I believe when it comes to news articles there is not going to be much I can find for an act that is 30 years old. The act itself does not have much information regarding it.

Outline of proposed changes

[edit]

The main source I want to use is the book which I intend on using to actually improve the law section of the article. There are 4 chapter and 26 sections in the act and they are not touched on at all or very little.

The article itself is formatted well however I feel that there needs to be more information certain sections.

There is also something called the Environmental protection rules which are put into the act but I need more details before I can put anything about that in if its even relevant.

Although I don't have as many sources as wanted by the course I believe I have enough to actually edit the article and improve it greatly. When it comes to the history and introduction in the wiki article the information is good and solid its just formatted a little awkwardly in some places. The main thing that needs improved is going to be the law section which could use a lot more detail especially since thats the mainly what the article is about. The subject itself does not have much in regards to academic or news articles due to the nature of the topic but the information I have found is more than enough to drastically improve the article.
