Dhalandia
[edit]The planet Monaladhias, which is slightly larger than Earth and slightly farther away from its parent star, which in turn is slightly larger than our sun. A year is 468 Earth days, and a day is 28.2 Earth hours. As such, a year is divided into 400 Monaladhian days, which are split into 18 months of 21-23 days each. They are labeled as the 1st-5th months of winter and summer, and the 1st-4th months of Spring and autumn. Monaladhias is tilted on its axis at 32 degrees, creating distinct and sometimes vastly different seasons. The year begins at the vernal equinox. Due to Wikipedia’s template, the equivalent averages are here based on the Earth year.
New Cleveland
[edit]New Cleveland is the capital of the main inhabited continent of Borealia. New Cleveland is on the continent of Borealia, which is about the size of North America, at 42N latitude. It is to the southeast of a large lake, which is common on Borealia. As such, it receives lake-effect precipitation frequently.

Lakebridge
[edit]A city built on the edge of Lake Overwatch, the largest freshwater lake on Borealia. As such, it receives extreme lake-effect precipitation. In the late autumn and early winter, before the lake freezes, heavy lake-effect snow squalls are common. In the summer, heavy rains and sometimes severe thunderstorms those in Earth's Florida are the norm.

Peachland
[edit]Peachland is in the southeast part of Borealia at 35N latitude. It's just south of the Snowkey Mountains, and so it lies at an elevation of 1,200 feet. Its climate is humid continental with wide variations between summer and winter. Winters are cold and snowy, but not awful. Summers are brutal with heat indexes reaching 140F+ at times. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are a regular occurrence as well.

Diskipulum
[edit]Small planet about 0.7 times the size of Earth, orbiting a red dwarf star. It is tidally locked, and orbits the star once every 36 days. It has a slight axial tilt, and so in the "twilight" region between permanent day and permanent night, the sun does rise and set every 18 days. Months are scaled equivalent; each "month" is considered to be 3 days.
The capital, Twilight, is about 60 miles inland from the coast of the stormy ocean, on the twilight barrier between day and night. The sun is up for 18 days--half the year--and down for 18 days, never more than 8 degrees above or below the horizon. The perpetual storm on the day side regularly makes its way into the twilight continent and sends systems dropping rain--or when cold enough, snow--on the cities.

Gigapedia
[edit]A moon of a gas giant orbiting a yellow dwarf star. It is about 0.92 times the size of Earth, and orbits Giga, its parent planet, once every 3 days. Together they take 337 days to orbit their parent star. It is hot and dry, with only 5% of water covering the surface. Many of the lakes on the surface are seasonal, filling in during a rainy season and drying up in the dry season.
Its two largest cities are Media and Targolin. Media is located at 70N latitude, and has a monsoon hot desert climate. Each year it rains torrentially for a couple of months and fills in a dry lake bed. Some years the lake bed dries up, other times it doesn't in plentiful years.

New Rochelle
[edit]A "super-Earth" orbiting an orange dwarf star. New Rochelle has a thick atmosphere which retains heat and makes the entire surface very warm and humid. The day is 16 hours long and the year is 229 (Earth) days, or 334 New Rochellian days. Seven small moons orbit New Rochelle, the largest about one-third the size of Earth's moon. The calendar is divided into 12 months of 4 weeks (28 days) each. New Rochelle is mostly ocean, with some small to mid-sized islands. The largest is in the south near the pole, about the size of Greenland, named Dani. Other islands are Troy (northern tropics), Zakchin (mid-latitudes in the north), and Barbon (mid- to high latitudes in the south). The axial tilt is 17 degrees, making for some moderate seasonal changes. The average temperature around the planet is 104F (40C). Most of the time the temperature surface-wide remains within 30F of the average. The thick atmosphere redistributes heat and makes most of the planet very hot and humid. Rainfall is torrential--far above anything imaginable on Earth--and thunderstorms are frequent. Some places, especially near the tropics, have a near constant heavy rain. As such, people tend to wear rain shields and cooling suits when venturing outside. The planet's largest city, Yorga, is the exception to this rule; it is located at an elevation of 12,000 feet near the south pole. As such, it is more temperate and dry.
Yorga is located on Dani at an elevation of 12,000 feet near the south pole. It is by far the most temperate area on the planet. As a place of higher elevation with a thinner atmosphere (at this level it's comparable to Earth's), it has larger temperature differences, more distinct seasons, and is drier.

Gargoy is located on Troy, in the tropics. It is almost entirely an indoor city, as torrential rains are constant and extreme. Lightning rods are on every surface of each building. It is located on a high hill, causing the rainwaters to run off to lower ground rather than forming a body of water. An extensive drainage system prevents flooding of buildings.

Tell
[edit]A small planet about the size of Titan. A hazy but breathable atmosphere covers the surface. It orbits an orange dwarf star. Its day is 3.6 days long, and its year is 188 days. It has two small asteroid moons. Fairly dry with more land than water, which is in the form of numerous lakes and seas dotting the surface rather than a large ocean. In fact, no point on the surface is more than 100 km from a lake or sea. Axial tilt is 18 degrees, providing for some relatively mild seasons. The thick atmosphere traps more heat, but the long day makes up for it in significant diurnal temperature variation. The calendar is divided into 12 months, like on Earth, but each month is only 4-5 Tellian days long. For these charts, Tellian days are converted and scaled to Earth days, with 1 Tellian day = 3.6 Earth days.
City of Tranquil, at 15S, elevation 18 ft.
Warm tropical climate, one of the wettest on the planet.

Elevia
[edit]A planet slightly smaller than Earth but less dense, and with low gravity. As such, it has numerous forbidding geographical formations and numerous climate extremes.
Twin I & II
[edit]A binary planet system orbiting a yellow dwarf star. II has a much thicker atmosphere than I. Both are about the size of Earth. A planet about halfway between the size of Mars and Earth.
Glaceland
[edit]A "snowball" planet about the size of Earth. The average planet-wide temperature is 0°F.
Star: G6V yellow dwarf star, slightly smaller and dimmer than the Sun.
Diameter: 0.80 x Earth Mass: 0.66 x Earth Day length: 19 hours, 45 minutes Year length: 314 days (380 Glacelandic days) Gravity: 0.72 g Moons: 8 asteroid-sized moons
- Each month is the equivalent of 26 Earth days
Niege
[edit]The largest city, Niege, has a "tropical" climate. Located at 25°N, it has a dry season through the cold winter, and a "wet" snowy season through summer. The ocean to the south and west seasonally unfreezes, allowing for snow to come in off the sea. Rain occasionally falls, about 10 times per year, enough to melt some of the snow built up through the winter. A melting system removes the snow buildup from the city and deposits it back onto the frigid ocean floor.

Fridgia, at 85°N, has a bitterly cold polar desert climate on an ancient glacier. Snow falls on a few occasions, but it is mostly bone-dry. It is on an ice cap at an elevation of 12,000 feet. It has no inhabitants except a few researchers who want to explore the possibilities of living on cold desert planets.
