The sailing series started in 2004 in order to organize major Florida Distance races into a formal series. The Endurance Series works with individual event coordinators and helps with marketing and developing endurance sailing rules that help promote the sport.
The series participants are some of the top beach catamaran sailors in the United States and have included Olympic medallists.
The races range in distance from a 30 mile one day race to a two day 120 mile race and are scored using the US Sailing portsmouth rating system
