Ovolo Hotels are a chain of independent boutique hotels located in Hong Kong and Australia. The Ovolo Group have six hotels around Hong Kong Island and West Kowloon, and an international hotel in Melbourne. Ovolo Hotels have recently announced the acquisition[1] of three additional hotels in Australia, two in Sydney and another one in Melbourne. Ovolo are known for providing their guests with free amenities such as free WiFi, free MiniBar and more as part of their all inclusive services. All Ovolo Hotels have a Lo Lounge which is a lounge area that serves snack and drinks throughout the day. [2]

History
[edit]Ovolo Hotels were founded by Girish Jhunjhnuwala in 2002 and first began as serviced apartments. Due to the increase in tourist numbers visiting Hong Kong, primarily from Mainland China the demand for hotels in Hong Kong increased. Therefore the Ovolo management team believed hotels would be more profitable for the company than serviced apartments. Ovolo's first international hotel (Ovolo Laneways) was finished and ready to operate by Mid 2012.

[edit]Ovolo Central is located at 2 Arbuthnot Road Central (above Wyndham Street), it is walking distance to the International Finance Centre. Ovolo Central provides a complimentary breakfast at Cafe O, access to the Lo Lounge and a 24 hour gym. Rooms have an average size of 350 sq ft / 33 sqm.
Ovolo NoHo
[edit]Ovolo NoHo is located at 286 Queens Road Central and has 60 rooms designed with a Japanese twist. Located next to SoHo and walking distance from the MTR and Public Buses/Ferries. The hotel features a 24 hour gym. The sizes of rooms are 150sq ft / 14sqm or 190sq ft / 18 sqm.
Ovolo West Kowloon
[edit]Ovolo West Kowloon is located at 256 Tung Chau Street and has a close proximity to the ICC and a range of local markets. All Suite hotel with 63 rooms. The hotel features a 24 hour gym. Rooms available are 500sq ft / 47 sqm and the largest suite is 700sq ft / 68 sqm.
Ovolo Aberdeen Harbour
[edit]Ovolo Aberdeen Harbouris located at 100 Shek Pai Wan Road and includes 85 rooms in two sizes a 200 sq ft. studio and a 500 sq ft. suite. Located in the hub of Aberdeen, allows one to experience a more local side of Hong Kong. The sizes of rooms range from 215 sq ft / 20 sqm to 410 sq ft / 38 sqm.
Ovolo Southside
[edit]Ovolo Southsideis located at 64 Wong Chuk Hang Road and includes a 162 room hotel. It is Hong Kong's maiden warehouse to hotel conversion which resulted in being a proud member of Design Hotels™. It has one restaurant, one rooftop bar, two events rooms and a 24 hour gym. The sizes of rooms range from 205 sq ft / 19 sqm to 300 sq ft / 28 sqm room.

[edit]Ovolo Laneways is located at 19 Little Bourke Street and is Ovolo's first international hotel. Includes 43 suites and apartment style rooms. It is located next to Chinatown in Melbourne's CBD.
Future Properties
[edit]On the 10th of July 2014, Ovolo Group Ltd. announced the purchase of three new hotels in Australia: Blue Sydney and Hotel 1888 in Sydney and Oaks on Lonsdale in Melbourne.
