As a Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN (which is know as a Licensed Practitional Nurse LPN in all of the United States other than California and Texas), I'm at the beginning of my career in nursing. I am working towards my RN with the goal of receiving my masters and working with the public health department. I plan to continue to become politically involved as a patient advocate and assist to change health care policy. These goals stem from working a mere 2 years at a private acute psychiatric hospital and being subject to intolerable and unsafe working conditions that led to substandard patient care. I'm also rockhound and am interested in geology, mineralogy and gemology along with jewelry making and lapidary arts.
