Aims
[edit]The Independent Supporters Trust of Athlone Town (iSTAT) was set up in April 2008 win the aim of carrying on from the work done by previous Supporters Clubs and to help secure the long term future of Athlone Town Football Club.
We hope to achieve this by working closely with both the Supporters and the Executive Committee of this great Club to help both groups work in harmony to help bring Athlone Town FC back where they belong in top flight football.
Along with making financial contributions to Athlone Town FC when possible, we hope to help with the logistics of the day to day running of the Club.
Along with the outlined activities, we will also seek representation on the Committee of Athlone Town FC to help bridge the game between Club and Supporter and assist with the flow of information.
The main aims of the Supporters Trust are as follows, To strengthen the bonds between the Club and the local community which it serves and also to represent the interests of the community in the running of the Club. To encourage the Club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions. To raise money and donate in such a way to promote the aims and objectives of the Trust and to the benefit of the local community and the supporters of the Club. To promote the full, accountable democratic and constructive involvement of supporters in the running and direction of the Club including the principle of supporter representation on the board of the Club. To develop links with supporters of other football clubs to further enjoyment for all fans. To promote the game of football as a recreational and sporting activity and focus for community.

Coote Esq., Larkfield is organising a club under Association rules and already a large number of young men of the town have become members...'
