HTML/OS is a programming language for building browser-native software applications. HTML/OS code is interpreted and variables are dynamically typed.
The HTML/OS language runs server-side. HTML/OS code is interpreted by the HTML/OS kernel, which runs as a CGI application.
HTML/OS has an integrated database system.

[edit]HTML/OS was created by Aestiva Software in 1994. Aestiva continues to develop HTML/OS for use in the database-driven products it sells to corporate, business, and government markets. In 2009, Aestiva introduced version of HTML/OS that is free for non-commercial use as well as releasing the source for several applications.
