February 2021

[edit]
  1. Nyrthos: nominated at AfD; notified Pifac (talk · contribs) 07:39, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: BEFORE searches do not reflect any independent, significant media coverage of this game that was supposed to launch in 2012 and is still listed as "upcoming" on the game's Facebook page. Thus, it seems to clearly fail WP:GNG as far as I can tell.
  2. Sara Wilford: nominated at AfD; notified Netscrooge (talk · contribs) 00:05, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a grandchild of Franklin Delanor Roosevelt who was a psychologist at Sarah Lawrence until recently. The articles relies on essentially four sources: (1) bio pages at Sarah Lawrence, (2) a page from the FDR Presidential Library identifying her as one of his many descendants, (3) a directory of academics, and (4) a brief mention in an NYT obituary for her husband. IMHO, this does not quanity as significant media coverage given that, aside from the Sarah Lawrence pages, none of the other sources discuss her in any meaningful capacity. Likewise, BEFORE searches did not return any meaningful results.
So, I'm nominating this because I do not believe it passes WP:GNG or WP:NACADEMIC. If others can find sources meeting those criteria, I'm happy to withdraw the nomination.

March 2021

[edit]
  1. Retrovirus RTS: nominated at AfD; notified Aronpaul (talk · contribs) 05:37, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a video game released for an obscure South Korean video game console. The article, which was created in 2007, does not cite any sources and links to only two pages that host a demo of the game. BEFORE searches did not return any significant coverage of the game. Thus, I believe it fails WP:GNG and cannot presently meet our criteria for inclusion.
  2. West Los Angeles Transit Center: nominated at AfD; notified Antitraffic220 (talk · contribs) 22:49, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a bus terminal in Los Angeles. Despite being created in 2008, it currently cites no sources and BEFORE searches returned only two secondary sources ([1], [2]) that mentioned the terminal at all and did so only in a very cursory, passing fashion.
In short, I don't think this article meets WP:GNG or any other SNG. And given the lack of secondary sources, I don't see how this article could be supported with reliable citations. These issues have also been flagged on the page since 2016, so I don't see this changing any time soon.
  3. Beverly Hills Preparatory School: nominated at AfD; notified Kintetsubuffalo (talk · contribs) 00:48, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a private school in Beverly Hills, California. According to the California Department of Education the school shut down in 2006. At present, the article cites two sources, both of which state only that Dan Brown briefly taught at the school. BEFORE searches likewise do not return any coverage about the school itself, only passing mentions regarding Brown's short tenure there. But, as is well established, notability is not inherited. And given that there is effectively no reliable, independent coverage regarding the school, I don't believe this article can meet any general or specific notability guideline and also that we lack sources to provide verifiable coverage.

April 2021

[edit]
  1. Hen House Studio: nominated at AfD; notified Pjt48 (talk · contribs) 23:42, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns an alleged recording studio in Venice, California which I believe fails the general notability guidlines. The article cites four sources, two of which are dead links. The other two are (1) a link to an Amazon album that was allegedly recorded at the studio and (2) a short bio and collection of videos staring the owner of the studio. These do not constitute "significant" coverage in my humble opinion and BEFORE searches do not return any other coverage of this studio that could be deemed significant. Finally, at least a portion of the article appears to have been written by someone with a COI, so I think that also weighs in favor of deletion, though that is not the reason I am nominating it.
Also, I recognize that this is OR and arguably not relevant to this discussion, but I tried to locate the studio today IRL to take a picture of it for the article and the studio no longer appears to be at the location included in the article, having been replaced by offices for an electric car company. So I also think that raises verifiability concerns about this article as well.
  2. Renaissance Academy (Los Angeles): nominated at AfD; notified D1m35 (talk · contribs) 22:42, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a defunct charter school in Los Angeles, California. According to the California Department of Education, the school operated only from 2004 to 2006. All of the external links in the article are now dead and the article has not cited any sources for several years.
BEFORE searches for this school do not return any coverage at all that can definitively be traced to the school. There are a lot of "Renaissance" named schools in the Los Angeles area, but none of the coverage I have found seems to relate to this school. Therefore, I do not believe it meets the general notaiblity guidelines or any other subject-specific guidelines for notability.
  3. Actors Circle Theatre: nominated at AfD; notified Abbadonnergal (talk · contribs) 00:48, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns an acting school in Los Angeles, California. Since the article's creation in 2006, it has cited no sources. BEFORE searches do not return any meaningful coverage of the school as this was the only source I found. Thus I do not believe this article can pass WP:GNG or any more specific notability guideline.
For anyone else who goes searching for sources, please note that there is a similar theatre in New Hampshire that does not appear to be related to this school.
  4. Community Harvest Charter School: nominated at AfD; notified Luisjr.deleon (talk · contribs) 20:54, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a defunct charter school in Los Angeles, California that allegedly existed from 2002 to 2012. The article currently cites no live sources and BEFORE searches do not return any sources that could be used to support or verify the contents of the article. Thus, I do not believe this article passes WP:GNG or any other notability guidelines and, lacking reliable sources, the content of the article is unverifiable.
  5. Hayfield University: nominated at AfD; notified Mtsinaics (talk · contribs) 20:25, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a private university in Fullerton, California. The article was created in 2011 yet for the last decade has cited no sources. The article is also in incredibly poor shape with broken English throughout and extensive discussion of trivial or promotional matters. And looking at the history, it seems highly likely that a major contributor was someone with a COI. But most importantly, in conducting a BEFORE search, I was unable to find any reliable sources demonstrating that this university meets WP:GNG or WP:NCORP. So, for all these reasons, I think this page should be deleted.
  6. Platinum Triangle, Los Angeles: nominated at AfD; notified UbZaR (talk · contribs) 04:01, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article is about an "informal name" for three neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Each of the articles regarding these three neighborhoods (Bel Air, Holmby Hills, and Beverly Hills) already discusses this "informal name" when talking about their respective neighborhoods. Per WP:NOT#DICTIONARY, Wikipedia is not a dictionary and we don't need an article that concerns only the nickname, particularly given that the nickname is already discussed in the articles about the places themselves.

May 2021

[edit]
  1. 28 Plays Later: nominated at AfD; notified Cjk119 (talk · contribs) 05:14, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable video game podcast that seems to clearly fail WP:GNG. The references cited in the article are either (1) dead links, (2) links to their iTunes or Twitch pages, or (3) references that mention in passing that they did a live show at a convention in 2015. BEFORE searches did not turn up any additional sources that could be used to demonstrate notability. And given that they seem to have stopped recording new episodes back in 2018, it seems highly unlikely that any further coverage will be forthcoming.

June 2021

[edit]
  1. Jim Dilworth: nominated at AfD; notified Webverbesserer (talk · contribs) 06:27, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable American banker. Fails both WP:GNG and WP:NCORP. The 3 sources cited in the article are exceedingly brief and routine, providing almost no coverage of the individual himself.
  2. Triforce (Arcade Board): nominated at AfD; notified Wii505 (talk · contribs) 23:37, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable piece of arcade hardware. BEFORE searches do not return anything close to significant coverage. And aside from one source cited in the article, the rest of the links cited are effectively dead/broken. Also Earwig suggests potential copyvio issues as well.
  3. Robert L. Humphrey: nominated at AfD; notified Winjutsu (talk · contribs) 00:43, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable author and soldier. BEFORE searches do not return anything close to significant coverage.

September 2021

[edit]
  1. Virtual U: nominated at AfD; notified Andrevruas (talk · contribs) 05:58, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable video game that has not developed beyond a stub in the 9 years since it's creation. BEFORE searches return only one piece of non-trivial coverage. No suitable merger targets or sufficient content to merge either.

October 2021

[edit]
  1. BF Weevil: nominated at AfD; notified Blurandgorillazfan09 (talk · contribs) 20:15, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: No indication of notability, no sources cited. PROD'd the article as part of New Page Patrol but creator contested PROD without any explanation so now bringing this to AFD.
  2. Compass Games: nominated at AfD; notified Sm8900 (talk · contribs) 13:40, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a board game manufacturer that does not appear to meet either WP:GNG or WP:NCORP. The references currently cited in the article currently are either (1) user-generated content, (2) generic storefronts for the company's products, or (3) a short review of one of their games. Even if these references were reliable sources (which they generally are not), none discuss the company in any meaningful detail, and certainly do not constitute significant coverage. BEFORE searches likewise do not return results that could be used to support the page.
I initially PROD'd the article as part of NPP but the creator contested on the grounds that "this company has published over a dozen notable games." But notability is not inherited and we need coverage about the company itself to demonstrate sufficient notability for this page.

November 2021

[edit]
  1. Chopper (video game): nominated at AfD; notified Coin945 (talk · contribs) 02:17, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns an iOS game released in 2009. The article cites no sources and BEFORE searches do not return any reliable sources that could be used to support the article.
  2. Shindenkai: nominated at AfD; notified MMA Kid (talk · contribs) 06:13, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article ostensibly concerns a branch of the martial arts. However, despite multiple attempts at searching, I have been unable to find reliable sources that could be used to support the article and demonstrate notability. The only source that I have found that has anything beyond a passing reference is this one which is an interview with the creator of the alleged martial arts style and offers only some high level details. But aside from that, it is very difficult to even confirm that this martial arts style even actually exists beyond the say-so of one or two individuals. And I certainly have not been able to find significant coverage that could demonstrate that WP:GNG is met.
I originally PROD'd this article as part of NPP but the PROD was contested. So I am now bringing this to AFD. If there are sufficient reliable secondary sources to demonstrate notability, I will happily withdraw this nomination.
  3. Pangea Translation Services: nominated at AfD; notified Atqıtartobı (talk · contribs) 15:22, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: This article concerns a translation company located in Cyprus. No sources appear to exist that would demonstrate that this company meets WP:GNG or WP:NCORP. I initially PROD'd article but the creator contested the PROD after adding a reference to a press release issued by the company, which is not an independent or reliable secondary source. So now I am bringing this to AFD.

December 2021

[edit]
  1. GNOME Games Collection: nominated at AfD; notified Shlomif (talk · contribs) 02:29, 22 December 2021 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable compilation of puzzle video games. None of the sources cited in the article are reliable sources sufficient to meet WP:GNG and BEFORE searches do not return any further sources that could be used to support the article.

January 2022

[edit]
  1. Nathan Cool: nominated at AfD; notified Toddcool (talk · contribs) 02:00, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
    • Reason: Non-notable individual who appears to fail WP:GNG and WP:BIO. BEFORE searches do not return sufficient reliable sources. And the sources that are cited in the article (to the extent they can be located at all) either (1) articles that the individual appears to have written or (2) are self-published/too closely affiliated with the author to warrant an article. Also it appears that the article was created by someone who may be associated with the subject, so that also raises some eyebrows.

  1. White v. Samsung: nominated at RfD; Target: Alex Kozinski (notified); notified Tallgaloot (talk · contribs) 23:54, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
    • Reason: This redirect does not make sense. White v. Samsung is an American legal case about rights of publicity. The redirect target is Alex Kozinski is simply one of the judges who sat on the same court as the panel of judges that decided this case. He may have offered some remarks about it, but there is, IMHO, no reason to send readers looking for this case to Kozinski's page. He did not even author the principal opinion or preside over the initial proceedings. So, I think this would be better off as a red link than a strange redirect.

  1. Your PC Protector: nominated at AfD; notified WiiRocks566 (talk · contribs) 05:56, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
    • Reason: Early 2010s malware that appears to be non-notable as no significant media coverage sufficient to meet GNG exists as far as I can tell.
