Francis Etsri Lokosu

Background
Chief Francis Etsri Lókosú commonly known as Baba Lókosú was born in Lagos, Nigeria on 10 October, 1929 into a devout Catholic family. He is the second son of his father, but the first son of his mother.
His father is Edmund Tonyin Lokosu (1897-1981) and his mother is Theodora Adolevi Lokosu (1900-1988). He attended elementary school at St. Paul's Catholic School, Ebute-Meta, Lagos 1937-1944 after which he came to Ibadan for his secondary education at the Ibadan Boys High School, Ibadan between 1947 and 1952. In 1953, he got a job at the Nigerian Railways Corporation in Lagos as a clerical officer and and he served there until 1962 (9 years). On April 16, 1962, he left for London to further his education and to pursue popular Golden fleece.
He got married to Grace Olufunmilayo Lokosu, nee Ijaola on June 29, 1963 in London and they are blessed with five children who are Afi, Sika, Efoe, Kwasi and Mesan.
Working Career
When he was in the United Kingdom he combined work with his studies and raising a family. He gained admission into the South West Essex Technical College (now called Waltham Forest College) and the City of London College 1963 to pursue Diploma courses in Sales Management, Sales Organisation, Merchandising and Marketing which he successfully completed in 1969. During this period he was employed the West Central Branch of Her Majesty Postal Royal Service. In 1970, he returned to Nigeria with his family and got employment in a British Paper Company called Wiggins Teape West Africa ltd. The Premier Paper Company in Nigeria. He was the Area Manager covering South West, Mid South West and Central South West of Nigeria excluding Lagos. The job required him to travel to all these parts of the country to see to the successful operation of the company. He retired voluntarily in 1980. After his retirement he lunched his private company named FEGOL Promotions Enterprises an outfit involved in the supply and distribution of stationeries, office equipments/appliances and various materials used in the printing industry. He ran the outfit until the year 2000 when he decided to call it quit.
Community Service
Francis Lokosu is an active and resourceful community figure. In 1988, the year he moved from Challenge in Ibadan to Bodija also in Ibadan , he was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Landlords Association of Zone one of Ilupeju Bodija. In 1996 he was elected as Chairman-General of Landlord Association of all the zones(there are seven zones) in Ilupeju Bodija. In recognition of his sterling Qualities and contributions towards the overall progress and development of the area, he was installed as the Otun Mayegun of Bodija Irepodun on Saturday, February, 28 1998 the Baale(Land Lord) of Bodija with the approval of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Emmanuel Adegboyega Adeyemo Operinde 1. He is also the Grand Patron and member of the Elders Consultative Forum of the Police Community Relations Commitee(PCRC) of the Bodija Divisional Police Headquarters, Bodija, Ibadan --Efoe Livingstone (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
