Paul Adolf Bamberg (born April 3, 1876 in Berlin; died 1946) was a German industrialist.
Life
[edit]Paul Adolf Bamberg was born the son of Carl Bamberg, a manufacturer of precision mechanics and optics. He attended secondary schools in Berlin, Eisenach and Coburg. After leaving school, he trained as a precision mechanic at the companies Max Hildebrand in Freiberg in Saxony and Carl Zeiß in Jena. He then studied natural sciences at the universities of Berlin, Munich and Strasbourg. In Munich, he became a member of the Corps Makaria in 1897.Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).In Strasbourg, he joined the Corps Palaio-Alsatia in 1898.[2] After completing his studies and subsequent longer trips abroad, he joined his father's factory Carl Bambergs Werkstätten für Präzisions-Mechanik und Optik, which he became the owner of in 1904. At the beginning of 1921, the company merged with Centralwerkstatt Dessau to form Askania Werke AG. Bamberg was appointed to the supervisory board of the new company and became its deputy chairman.
Paul Adolf Bamberg published numerous works on Saxon numismatics as well as family history treatises. He was a member of various scientific societies.
