I need help
[edit]Hi, Figaro.
I see that you've contacted User:Glen about some current situations. I am looking forward to working with you. Can you let me know when Glen responds? It would be much appreciated. FYI, I joined Wikipedia on December 28, 2006. I also need some help on articles if you don't mind. Thanks. Sjones23 11:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. It is very much appreciated. I have contributed a lot to Wikipedia (for a listing of some, see User:Sjones23/Wikipedia contributions). And, you're welcome. All the best. Sjones23 19:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I see that there is still no reply from Glen. I wonder why? If you need help, let me know. Sjones23 15:07, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- The reason why Glen is out of Wikipedia is because he is on a short wikibreak if that is the answer to your question. Thanks for your comments. Once again, thank you. All the best. Sjones23 01:15, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Brisbane
[edit]Just a reminder that WikiProject Brisbane needs your help. There have been a number of changes to the project page over recent days and I hope you could spare some time to take a look, be bold and add some touches yourself.
There is plenty that needs to be done to get more Brisbane articles up to FA standard. Please come and discuss this and lets see if we can build up this project.

Waterdragon
[edit]Perhaps "superflous" is better than "redundant". There's so many photos in that article and I removed the ones that I thought were repeats of other photos. It's not a matter of collecting all the photos we can of dragons. We only need one photo to illustrate the same thing. There's a close up, there's a full body shot, etc, etc. THey all look essentially the same. Don't take it personally, I actually feel the other four photos in the Pictures section are also redundant/superfluous and should be removed. kind regards. --Merbabu (talk) 09:30, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Outback
[edit]Hi I am trying to cleanup the article there seems to have been a weird 3rr on the article this afternoon - cheers SatuSuro 09:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
No big deal - someone with a POV with blinkers was trying to convert it to an article with no relevance to the concept - it is a european construct - and that is what i put in the second para - however i think that person has since been blocked - so no big deal - like bush - it is possibly a contestable concept and no where near as simple as either of the articles can do anything about - the literature and complexity in the australian sense is a phd anyway - but hey they are just two not very good articles - so no worries SatuSuro 12:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the message. I left information about the article reassessment on the article's talk page. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 13:47, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

WP:FILMS Questionnaire
[edit]As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

"The Gabba" reference.
[edit]Hi Figaro,
I refer you to this edit on Brisbane.
Replacing:
|overlay14 = "The Gabba" (Brisbane Cricket Ground)<ref>[http://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums.php?id=52 Australian Stadiums]</ref> |overlay14tip = The Gabba |overlay14top = 380 |overlay14left = 350 |overlay14link = Brisbane Cricket Ground
with:
|overlay14 = "The Gabba" ([[Brisbane Cricket Ground]])<ref>[http://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums.php?id=52 Australian Stadiums]</ref> |overlay14tip = The Gabba |overlay14top = 380 |overlay14left = 350
will fix the problem. (The problem is that the provided reference is being placed inside a piped link by the template.)
The down side is that the above fix removes the hyperlink from the overlay on the image (leaving the image link).
I might look at allowing references in this template in a better way in the future, but in the meantime I will let you decide which is more important, the reference, or the hyperlink to "The Gabba" ovelayed in the image.

Comment to 'Shawn of Montreal'
[edit]I am allowed to delete content from my own talk page (please see comment above about this).
Please do not continue to pester me. It is 3.15 a.m. Monday morning here and I need to get some sleep. I know that it is daytime where you live.
I do not intend to continue my correspondence with you. I have also now put the matter into the hands of an Administrator. Figaro (talk) 17:17, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- I have closed this discussion on CfD to the title which you suggested. I just want to let you know that if you hadn't blanked the category, and hadn't deleted Shawn in Montreal's comments, you still would have gotten what you wanted. So knowing that, please also know that I was tempted to declare the nomination null and void because of your apparent actions, and only did not do so because I believed restarting the nomination would have ended us up in the same place anyhow. I can't guarantee that'll be the result next time, and so if you decide to skip over CfD protocol in the future, it could well end up in a place you wouldn't want it to. I'd ask you to exercise restraint when something makes it to CfD. Simply waiting until an admin like me has a chance to close it is better than gaining a reputation for not respecting what other editors think. Thanks for listening.--Mike Selinker (talk) 09:35, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
My letter of explanation to Administrator "Snowolf
[edit]Editor abuse problem
[edit]I am sorry for worrying you, but I am having a problem with Shawn in Montreal who is continuing to make personal comments about me in the section for Category:Doctor in the House - and TV sequels on the Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2011_April_16 page. His comments are as follows:
- Note that this CfD and the tag on the category page was blanked by creator User:Figaro. I have rolled back both edits and posted a comment on his Talk page. I have not issued a warning out of respect for the fact that he appears to be an experienced editor, but will if this continues. Shawn in Montreal 14:33, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- My comment above was blanked as well by category creator Figaro. I have restored it. Shawn in Montreal 16:00, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Unwisely, I deleted the section for Category:Doctor in the House - and TV sequels (which I should obviously have left on the page), because I intended to retify the situation by merging two category pages into one (which I have now done).
I apologise and regret having removed the content, but, unfortunately, I can't undo what I did. Ever since then, Shawn in Montreal has been trying to shame me on the Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2011_April_16 page. Because of Shawn in Montreal's stated threats to me, on the page (in a public forum), and although the naming of editors, by another editor, is considered personal abuse and is strictly against Wikipedia policy, I have decided to leave his comments on the page and ignore them (I removed his comments twice, but he just continues to reinstate them, with added remarks about me each time). I have also tried to reason with Shawn in Montreal on his 'talk page', but evidently to no avail, and have therefore decided not to continue my correspondence with him. I have also removed his remarks to me from my own 'talk page'.
Would it be possible, please, for you to intervene in this matter. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. All the best. Figaro (talk) 17:01, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
To anybody interested in reading this
[edit]As I commented to the Administrator Snowolf, I regreted (and still do) what I did in removing the section in the Categories for discussion page - but I am unable to undo what I had done.
What prompted me to act hastily was the unnecessary suggestion of renaming the category by the entirely inappropriate name of "I Don't Know" (which I found insulting). If this suggestion had not been made, then I would not have acted in the way I did - a way, I should comment, which is entirely against my principles. It is also something I do not intend to ever do again, so I do not need to be lectured about the consequences of my action - as I stated - I would have let the discussion 'run its course' in the usual way. I regret and apologise for what I did - if I could have undone my hasty edit, I would never have done so.
