'Gay' Gene
[edit]According to Andrea Ganna, a geneticist at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, there is no such thing as the gay gene. After studying the genomes of over 500,000 people, it has been concluded that although "sexual preferences have a genetic component, no single gene has a large effect on sexual behaviors."[1]
Kinsey Scale
[edit]Dr. Alfred Kinsey developed the Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating scale - more commonly known as "The Kinsey Scale." This scale found that people don't necessarily fit into exclusively heterosexual or homosexual categories. [2] Thus, making it seem that biology does not have a huge factor on why people are homosexual.
