What is your favorite article?

[edit]
  • My userpage. --Osbus 21:42, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Philip K. Dick Simply because he's my favorite author and there seems to be a lot of activity on and around the page (Johnny Copper 14:18, 30 April 2006 (UTC))
  • Probably Half-Life 2 becuase it is my favorite game and I help with it a lot. Thunderbrand 16:41, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • We still have to attain a level when we shall become Better than the Best. I may add that we constitute the most vibrant and resilient virtual community, and we shall surely ensure that the Project acquires the status of the best global encyclopedia. --Bhadani 09:52, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No favourite. If I see an article I don't like, I'll try and look for ways to improve it. --Happynoodleboy 12:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I don't have a favorite. I'm planning to start an article pretty soon, so that may become my favorite article. -- Clarinetplayer 01:38, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I don't have one. Most pages need some more work, some pages need a complete overhaul, some pages need just a little cleanup, and some pages need to be created. As such I cannot have a favorite page until Wikipedia is a complete encyclopedia. ----Tom 03:14, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit]
  • No, but I'm hoping one of the articles I've created about rock bands becomes featured...anons are surprisingly useful in edits on that topic. --Osbus 21:45, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
  • None - frankly I never gave attention to them. I am still working on expanding the coverage of the Project, and creating at least stubs of reasonable quality. This year I shall surely love to pay attention to some of the pages created by me so that they may become FA. Ultimately, all our pages must be as good as FAs. --Bhadani 09:58, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No, I've only been editing since December, and haven't created any articles yet. --Clarinetplayer 01:40, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No. It seems that most pages have been taken, and that it would be really hard unless you were among the erliest members to get a FA page. ----Tom 03:21, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No, I only do small edits – Gurch 22:36, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Are you an admin? Would you like to be?

[edit]
  • I failed two RfAs. I'm planning to have my third in May or June. Computerjoe's talk 20:57, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Hmnn...yeah, I'd like to be one. --Osbus 21:45, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
  • No, don't want to be one. — Wackymacs 10:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I'm not now, and I think it would take a little while yet for me to get the experiance and wikibility to become one (Johnny Copper 14:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC))
  • No, not currently but maybe in the future. --Midnighttonight 07:54, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No. Not as the moment, but I might apply in the future when I feel I have a good chance - • The Giant Puffin • 16:53, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Yes. --Bhadani 10:00, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Adminship brings with it extra responsibilities that I don't think I'd like to ever have. --Happynoodleboy 12:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I am not an admin, and I don't want to be one yet, for several reasons. I'm new and I'm sure I could not pass an RFA at this point, I feel like I don't quite understand Wikipedia well enough yet, and I don't feel like I really need the admin tools yet. I may want to become an admin in the future, but for now I'm happy as a non-admin. -- Clarinetplayer 01:43, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I would like to be one, but I would like to know a little more about it first. ----Tom 03:25, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Absolutely not. I think the cliquishness fostered by the admin system is one of the main long term threats to Wikipedia. A high proportion of the bad conduct I see is from admins who think they are untouchable (and they are too right). CalJW 20:08, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • No. It's not really necessary for what I do, though if I was nominated I'd probably accept – Gurch 22:36, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

How many times do you edit a day?

[edit]
  • It varies. Some days only 5, some days up to 50-100. — Webdinger BLAH | SZ 01:30, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Varies, probably around 15 on average, though i used to do up to 100 per day last year. — Wackymacs 10:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Depends on how fast my Watchlist changes, on how much time I have and so on....but i guess it's something between 5 and 10 times a day. --NorkNork Questions? fnord? 11:10, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Totally depends on what else I'm during throughout the day, although items on my watchlist are given high priority (Johnny Copper 14:22, 30 April 2006 (UTC))
  • Usually 20 a day. I used to edit a lot more but have cut back in recent months. Thunderbrand 16:41, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Will check it out usually two or three times. Trying to cut back however. Indeed, I'm procrastinating from writing my essay right now. --Midnighttonight 07:54, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Around 10 a day, but sometimes I do upto 40 a day. Im mostly reading through things like discussions or general information I find interesting - • The Giant Puffin • 16:53, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Average is 60 plus and the total is 25,000 plus in about 13 months. After my recent absence of about 3 weeks on account of sickness, I was so wiki-hungry that I made 1000 plus edits on 28th, 29th, and 30th May, 2006. I just want to edit and edit - but you know, I have a full time job, and so I cannot edit continuously. When I retire in August 2011 from my job, I shall devote all time at my disposal to editing wikipedia. --Bhadani 10:06, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Did you mean April 2006? Or have you been time-travelling? – Gurch 22:36, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Around 10 edits per day. It's quality not quantity in my opinion. --Happynoodleboy 12:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Around 20-30 main namespace edits. About 100 non-main namespace edits. --GeorgeMoneyTalk  Contribs 01:53, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Around 1 or 2 major edits, plus a very large number (150 est.) of smaller edits. ----Tom 03:28, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I've done 1000 in a day several times, obviously they were all minor and this is not a typical day. Most days I don't edit – Gurch 22:36, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

What languages do you speak?

[edit]
  • English, and Latin (reading/writing that is). Learning Chinese and Spanish. --Osbus 21:55, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
  • English, some German — Wackymacs 10:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • English, some Japanese. Thunderbrand 20:49, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • English only. I know the Hebrew alphabet pretty well, but I only understand a few words, not even enough to have a simple conversation. I'd like to know more languages and I will start learning Spanish when I enter high school this fall. -- Clarinetplayer 01:46, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I speak English as a native language. I am close to that in written Latin. I know rudimentary Armenian, Irish, and Japanese. I have some knowledge of the Interphonetic Alphabet. --Tom 04:04, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
  • English only – Gurch 22:38, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
  • English is my native language, but I have a voracious appetite for learning French. In the fall, I will be taking Latin. (Kudos to Clarinetplayer for also entering highschool!) balletgirl313 18:23, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

What country do you live in?

[edit]
  • United States of America. Thunderbrand 20:49, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
  • UK – Gurch 22:38, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
  • United States - Zach 23:12, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
