G. Harold Wagner was born in Drifton, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1900, son of George and Sallie Wagner. His paternal grandfather immigrated to the United States at the age of 14 and was a member of the Sixth Pennsylvania Cavalry in the American Civil War.
