The information you have included is strong. It fits well into the article. I think that it is also good that you mentioned the concerns and current debates on the US asylum process. One thing that I did notice is that the other sections about other countries don't have this. I think it would be a good idea to mention this in the Wikipedia talk pages and how adding more to other country's sections could improve the strength of the article as a whole. I also think it could be a good idea to link in the Refugee law article in the lead section where the definition of refugee is written.

Tone and Balance

The tone is neutral, and the section is well balanced. I did not notice any grammatical or spelling mistakes.

Organization

I think the flow of the article can be improved a bit. The different paragraphs could be transitioned better. The section is centered around the historical events that occurred in the sector and creating a timeline of relevant events that is easy to understand is important.

Sources and References

Most of the information is not cited. It would be helpful to add more sources. Additionally, the source included is not a scholarly article, it is just a website. I think adding scholarly research articles would be a good addition.
