The Honda XR650R is a motorcycle manufactured by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan. The XR650R is a trail bike used for both off-road and on road purposes (with the addition of a dual sport kit). The XR650R model was released in 2000, the evolution of the XR600R which had 15 years of racing under its belt. The XR650R is essentially an XR600R with many evolutionary improvements. These include increased engine displacement, liquid cooling and an aluminum frame all of which adding to a higher power to weight ratio for the big XR.

The stock XR puts out approximately 40 HP; however, bypassing the many EPA power robbing features can easily raise it to 50 HP. On top of this, Honda sells a Power Up Kit for roughly $1000 USD that further increases it to 60 HP. The removal of EPA restrictions is commonly referred to as uncorking.
