Nora Kata Karasz
[edit]Nora Kata Karasz is a young and talented hungarian violinist, born in the early 2000s.
Life and Studies
[edit]Nora was born and raised in the hungarian countryside. She started learning the violin at the age of 5 at the music school of Békéscsaba.
At the age of 14, Nora was admitted at the Conservatory of Szeged, where she was a student of Dr. Márta S. Dobos. During the 5 years she spent in the conservatory, Nora became a prize winner of many international solo and chamber music competitions in Slovakia, Romania, Serbia and Italy, and also a participant of many music festivals, such as the Festival of Young Composers, or the 27th Autumn Cultural Festival. In 2023 she was the violinist of trio "Chiara", which they won special prize at the National Chamber Music Competition in Hungary.
She also had the chance to participate in masterclasses of Katalin Kokas, Elizabeth Pitcairn, Kati Sebestyén, Zsófia Környei, István Lajkó and Éva Ácsné Szily.
From september of 2024 Nora is a student of the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, where she studies in Kati Sebestén's class.
