Production and crew
[edit]The real Housewives of Vancouver began casting in November 2011.[1] Initially producers cast in both Vancouver and Toronto, however it wasn't an open casting call. Producers have revealed the casting was very targeted and they attempted to "ladies-who-lunch community".[2] The producers made an agreement that if they couldn't find the right cast and talent, they wouldn't have proceeded with a Canadian series because without the right ensemble, the series would be "half baked".[2] During the development stage of the series, Vancouver was effectively chosen over Toronto because according to producer Grant Greschuk, the women in Toronto were more reserved and that they couldn't find the right group of women.[2] Greschuk went on to say that Vancouver was also the right choice as it would give the series a more sexier, more glamorous look, and the visuals of the ocean, mountains and the city of glass would be more fitting as they were just recently publicized with the Olympics at the time.[2] On January 21, 2012 sliced announced The Real Housewives of Vancouver, along with a premiere in Spring.[3][4] Several days later following the announcement of the series, on January 30, 2012, Slice released a video teasing the cast of five women.[5] The full cast and premiere date were announced on February 28, 2012.[6][7][8][9] Advertisement for the series featured at Toronto Eaton Centre, in March 2013[10] Slice released a ten-minute sneak peak of the two-hour long premiere episode aired on March 28, 2012, just a week before the premiere.[11][12]
The series premiere "Let the Games Begin!"[13] was aired on April 4, 2012,[14][15] while the thirteenth episode "Karma Is A Bitch"[16] served as the season finale, and was aired on June 20, 2012.[14] It was followed by a two-part reunion[17][18] which marked the conclusion of the season and was broadcast on June 27, and July 4, 2012.[14][19]
Mike Bickerton, Grant Greschuk, and Erin Haskett as the series' executive producers; and is produced by Lark Productions, in partnership with NBCUniversal International Studios, and is distributed by Shaw Media.[2][20]
Cast and synopsis

Negus [30]
