About
[edit]InnerSpace is a fast-paced, late night entertainment show featured on the Space Network. The program airs every Friday night at 11pm Eastern Standard Time. Join Space personalities Ajay Fry, Natasha Eloi and Teddy Wilsonweigh as they reveal the latest Science Fiction topics alongside special guests. Subjects include events, movies, books, video games, comics, and other similar matter in the Sci-Fi genre. Worldwide Sci-Fi fans have the opportunity to express their opinions regarding the show and featured products through e-mail, webcam, Facebook and Twitter.[3]
History
[edit]The show has gone through many changes during it's four year course but the goal has always been the same.[2] Previously known as Hyperspace and later The Circuit, the show would keep itself in change to both keep updated with Sci Fi fans and to update it's format to that of a dialogue where instead of simply recapping Space (TV channel) programming - the programming would be discussed like a forum by InnerSPACE's hosts. After finding out through showing The Circuit that one weekly show was not enough to cover the vast content Space (TV channel) had to offer, the show was updated to InnerSPACE's thirty minute format to achieve a balance of quality and quantity.[2]

Natasha Eloi (Former Cast Member)
[edit]Natasha Eloi was one of the founding members of the InnerSPACE team and a host since September 2008.[5] Currently the InnerSPACE web page no longer acknowledges Natasha as an official host. No explanation is provided as a reason for this removal however her Blog posts still remain available. Natasha's last post was done 2:00pm EST on 6/24/11.[6]
On the show Natasha acted as On-Air Reporter and Segment Producer.[5] Natasha was born in Hammersmith, UK [7] and her interests include: Horror, Sci-fi, fantasy, comics, graphic novels, movies that are not Chick flicks, music, astronomy, photography, writing, and reading.[5] It was not until Natasha joined Space did she realize her last name Eloi had an alien association from The Time Machine (1960 film). Natasha also prefers that her style reflects her unique personality and prevents her from appearing like "a walking billboard"[8].

Involvement
[edit]In Sci Fi Promotion
[edit]InnerSPACE is involved in the promotion of new and old Sci-Fi television shows including the release of the new season of Doctor Who on April 23, 2011.[12] Other shows include Sanctuary (TV series), Primeval, and the all new show Being Human (North American TV series)..[13] Most of their involvement includes over-views of these shows, highlights, and behind the scenes coverage. Sometimes however, InnerSPACE gets involved with live studio showings.[14]
In Toronto
[edit]InnerSPACE has been very active in the Toronto Sci Fi community, particularly with their involvement in the public showing of Stargate Universe's special episode "The Greater Good" [14] On November 12, 2010 some of Space (TV channel)'s loyal fans attended this public showing which was held at CTV Television Network's Masonic Temple in Toronto, Canada[15]. The event featured the cast of Stargate Universe including Robert Carlyle, Louis Ferrira, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque, David Blue, Alaina Huffman, Jamil Walker Smith, Ming-Na, Julia Benson, Patrick Gilmore, Jennifer Spence, and Peter Kelamis. The creators of the show Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper were also present and as were the hosts of InnerSPACE. The goal of the event was to discuss the show Stargate Universe and allow for fans to have an exclusive autograph session with some of the cast members.[15] Thanks to InnerSPACE and Space (TV channel), those who could not make it to the live show in Toronto were given the chance to chat online with the featured cast following the broadcast of the episode[14].
Awards
[edit]Due to active Sci-Fi community involvement, InnerSPACE and its co-hosts Teddy and Ajay have been honoured by Canada's awards for excellence in science fiction film and television - The Constellation Awards. The two hosts received a high prestige award which was "Outstanding Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television" on July 16, 2011.[16] Teddy and Ajay were nominated through popular fan response/submission and earned 39% of the vote over their competitors Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne, and author Robert J. Sawyer[16].
