April Fools

• Wikipedia:2005 Britannica takeover of Wikimedia
• The Did You Know section included interesting facts about John F. Kennedy being killed by government agents, Ben Affleck dying while shoveling snow, and six latrines being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
• Kmweber initiates a RFA at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Kmweber 2 where he suggests, among other things, that, as an admin, he would delete the main page and AfD, redirect and salt User:Jimbo Wales, put penis pictures on George W. Bush, and indef block anyone who votes "oppose" in his RfA.
• RyanGerbil10 "tweaked" the deletion log notice.
• Viridae added a fake block notice to the watchlist.
• Nwwaew created Wikipedia:Vandal Coaching, but the joke went over some people's heads as it was immediately put up for deletion at WP:MfD.
• Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion are both nominated for deletion[1][2] on the basis they "encourage gross incivility, personal attacks, assumptions of bad faith, biting of newcomers and wikidrama, all of which are rampant in deletion discussions."
• Jimbo Wales is reported as a vandal. Multiple times.
• Nihiltres changed "Block user" to "Pwn user" for admins.
• The Search box buttons are relabeled to "I'm Feeling Lucky" and "Wacky Search"
• Keilana and Tiptoety wheel warred over Jimbo's user rights and whether or not to grant him rollback. Which resulted in an indef block of Keilana by Tiptoety.
• Metros added, over the "Outstanding requests" header on WP:CHECK, the headers "Poor requests", "Decent requests" and "Pretty good requests".

• Users reported themselves to WP:AIV[3][4] and amazingly one was taken seriously [5]
• Aecis (talk · contribs) started an MfD on Wikipedia:Blocking policy

• A note Wikipedia introduces a new feature, video articles and is looking for volunteers to present articles in front of the camera. Apply now! was added into the ITN section on the Main page. It stayed there for six minutes.
• Page nuking is enabled by Kwsn.
• block duration units changed to seconds and fortnights by User:Random832
• Special:Recentchanges was briefly hacked to display a message from Jimbo Wales saying that, because of vandalism, he would start charging editors to edit Wikipedia unless they were members of the cabal. A fake credit card registration page was also made as an extension of the joke.
• A fake article about a truck driver named Bill Clinton
• A parody of AfD (the word "votes" is censored because AfD is not supposed to be a vote)
• Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/VandalBot
• Mozilla Firefox was briefly hacked to make it appear as if it was about the biological species "Firefoctus mozillae" (permalink). Later it was suggested to be merged with itself (permalink).
• Viridae went into the MediaWiki namespace and temporarily changed the Block IP Text to include links to Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spider-Man and Wikipedia: There is No Cabal, both of which are "official" Surpreme Cabal policy. It was then reverted 4 minutes later by Cyberjunkie. Viridae then added the links back in 40 minutes later. Cyberjunkie then deleted them again 1 minute later.

• Around 1048 UTC, the header for Special:Watchlist was replaced by a large image of Jimbo's eyes with the caption "Jimbo is always watching"
• MediaWiki:Sitenotice was changed by Alkivar. [6]
• Dark Shikari changed Wikipedia:Votes for Deletion from a redirect to a new page, where users could vote on the deletion of votes. This concept had previously been created as a non-April Fools vandalization by SPUI.
