Crocodile shears were a type of medieval torture device.

The device was intended to be used for mutilation of attempted regicides. The device was also used to execute victims, as people would die of blood loss, due to damage to the arteries, caused by the shears. The device was composed of iron shears lined with spikes, resembling a crocodile shape. The device was then heated and clamped onto either the victim's genitalia or fingers. However, there are few records of crocodile shears actually being used.[1][2][3][4][5]
