Uldis Reinis Dumpis (born 3 October, 1943 in Bauska, Latvia) is an actor of Latvian theatre and cinema.

Early life

Uldis spent his first life years in family home called „Dumpji” in Īslīces parish. In September 1950 he started learning in Īslīces elementary school. In September 1958. He started learning in Bauskas middle school. In 1961. he finished his studies in Bauskas middle school. In school years learned in music school playing the piano and trumpet. In 1961 Joined the actors Division of the Latvian State Conservatory in Theatre Faculty. After graduating, from 1965, he started working as an actor in National Theatre, where he still works for 54 years.^[1]

Personal life

Uldis Reinis Dumpis is born in family of students of the University of Latvia, Teodors Reinis Dumpis and Lilija Dumpe. His father studied in faculty of Law, mother in faculty of Philology and Philosophy. In 1943, his father was called into the German army. His father was a pilot in World War II. After the World War II, his father was missing.^[2]

In 19 July 1966 he married Daina Dumpe (born Dzene). In 1967 he had a daughter Dace Dumpe. In 1971 he had a son Jurģis Dumpis. In 1988 his son died.^[3]
