Early Life

Dr. Mohan Kumar was born in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his graduation and post-graduation from Thyagarajar College, Madurai University, and the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, respectively. He has a doctorate from Sciences Po, Paris.

Career

Dr. Mohan Kumar is a 1981 batch Indian Foreign Service officer. During his three-decade-and-a-half-long career, he played a pivotal role as a lead negotiator for India at the World Trade Organization. He was India’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain for five years (2010-2015). [2]

He served as a Joint Secretary for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Myanmar for two years (2005-2007) at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.

Personal Life

Dr. Kumar is married and has two children.
