You deleted my edit

It wasn't a mistake --Adolfisinnocent420 (talk) 21:34, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Newk's Express Cafe

Hello, You deleted an edit in which I converted an old article into a redirect saying that I didn't explain why, however I did explain why in the edit summary (Redirect to current page on subject.). This edit was not a mistake, merely redirecting an antiquated article about a company under that company's former name, to the current article about the company under the company's new name. All relevant content from the old article has already been merged into the new article. As this edit was not in error, not incorrect, and not without an edit summary, I'll be reverting the change. Best Southrunner10 (talk) 04:28, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Southrunner10. Oops! I sat down and looked at the history of that article - Thanks for reverting and for leaving me a message. Not sure how I managed to do that. Cheers, and happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 22:20, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi, it's okay. Perhaps you can help with an issue I'm having with the page. The article Newk's Eatery does not come up when the title or topic is searched on Google, and actually seems quite impossible to reach through the search engine. It's almost as if the article simply does not list/exist. Is there a reason you might know, can you help? Southrunner10 (talk) 05:54, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Southrunner10. Google's search engines are outside of the scope of the knowledge or insight that I can provide here. However, I can try and answer your question and help as best as I can. Google uses web crawlers (bots) to discover new content on the internet, and their search algorithms (in a nutshell) sort search results by popularity and relevance (among other things). Again, I am not an expert on Google's search algorithm - I am simply recalling this from memory. My best advice is to remember that we're here to build an encyclopedia, not to promote articles or content. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 08:51, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip Oshwah but I know why we're here and my concern with this was not to promote anything, merely to make sure that the encyclopedia we're building together is accessible to everyone in the way people often access information--through Google. To ask a more direct question, I have been exploring the __INDEX__ tag, but I am unsure on its exact use (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Controlling_search_engine_indexing#NOINDEX_magic_word). I don't know if you have used this tool before, but it seems to be an attempt to address search engine issues. Perhaps if you had any knowledge on the topic you could see how and if it applies to the Newk's Eatery page in question. Thanks, Southrunner10 (talk) 02:32, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello Oshwah. Hope you have room on the shelf for a few more of these. I would like to enthusiastically thank you for your work in counter-vandalism on Wikipedia. I took a peek at your contribution history, and it seems as if you are volunteering hours upon hours of your life to protecting this great encyclopedia project from harm. Editors like you seem to be invisible, working behind-the-scenes without ever wanting or seeking recognition for what you do. Always remember that your job is probably the most important to the project. Once again, thank you for working tirelessly, and keep doing what you do! Mz7 (talk) 02:30, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Mz7. I appreciate you for taking the time to give such a thoughtful and in-depth barnstar - thank you. I enjoy the opportunity to volunteer here, and I plan on contributing more as soon as I have more time to do so. It's a pleasure to meet you. Sandra Cassel/Sandra Peabody

The Sandra Cassel page, as it was originally was incorrect. The page is about Sandra Peabody, who I am currently sitting with. She did one movie under her friend's name Sandra Cassel, and we believe a lot of the information on the Cassel page is from a (now deceased) soft porn star. We need to set the record straight, since Sandra is now a renowned acting coach for children, teens and adults. The edits made were all correct, and based on information from Sandra Peabody herself. The original information has her film credits incorrect, her birth date incorrect, her birth place incorrect, and many more inaccuracies. The incorrect information could hurt Peabody's current business, and so must be removed.

What is wrong? This article is translation from polish wikipedia https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma%C5%82gorzata_D%C4%85browska Michalbyz (talk) 08:46, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Michalbyz! Thanks for leaving me a message! I'm really glad that you've done so. Okay, so here's the problem I found: When examining the article using Earwig's Copyvio Tool, I found that content in this article looks to have been copied straight off of two sources, which is represents a copyright violation. No worries; this probably isn't your fault (especially if you simply translated the article content from a sister project (which appears to be the case). Whoever wrote that article there may have copied the content from those sources and translated it to Polish (I'm not 100% sure; don't quote me on that). All we need to do is rewrite the article to summarize the sources instead of copying content straight from it. Then we'll be good to go! If you need help with this, please let me know. I'll be happy to take some time and assist. Just remember that you cannot remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created yourself... especially if they're for G12 (Copyright violation). You need to contest the deletion properly. Reaching out to me, as you just did, is a process of properly contesting it (as well as discussing it on the article's talk page). This allows you to get help from others. On Wikipedia, we try to make article deletion a last resort, but articles created with blatant copyright violations are one such exemption to that rule - those must be deleted. I hope my response has answered your questions and concerns. Again, if you'd like my assistance with the article, don't hesitate to let me know. I'll be happy to help! It's a pleasure to meet you, and I hope that you enjoy your stay and become a long-term contributor here. Welcome to Wikipedia, by the way! :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 13:56, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

OO Void redirect

Hello, this is regarding the change of the OO Void redirect. The redirect page itself states that "This is a redirect from a page name that does not have diacritical marks (accents, umlauts, etc.) to essentially the same page name with diacritical marks. For more information follow the category link." which would refer to the spelling "OO" lacks the diacritical marks "ØØ", meaning that "OO Void" should redirect to "ØØ Void", not to "Sunn O)))". Seeing as how people searching for the album ØØ Void without the usage of specific letters not present on numerous keyboards would default to using regular Os, whereas the name of the band, Sunn O))), contains no such irregular letters and can thus be reached directly, I believe redirecting "OO Void" to "ØØ Void" would be a much more natural fit.

Hi, 89.17.128.250. I apologize for the mistake. Thank you for leaving me a message and for letting me know. I've restored the change that you made. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 15:17, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Izzat Hayat Khan

Helo and thanks for your note-- I made a note on the Talk page before deletion, as this page seems to be a duplicate of an older original page Izzet Hayat Khan. It seems that either someone removed or redirected/merged that page with this one? Im not sure, as Im not a regular editor. However, this new version seems to contain much spurious and false information, what to do about that? I think the original page was much more accurate. Also, the name spelling 'Izzatr Hyat-Khan' see,s to be a secondary variation not the main or proper spelling, which is already given above. I would request your guidance thanks. 39.54.219.85 (talk) 15:29, 5 September 2015 (UTC)Col (retd) Mumtaz Khan, Pakistan

Hi, 39.54.219.85, and thanks for leaving me a message! I left you a talk page message and responded to your concerns raised on Talk:Izzat_Hyat-Khan. In short, those are not two duplicate articles. Izzet Hayat Khan is actually a redirect to Izzat Hyat-Khan. So, when you blanked the page, you didn't blank a duplicate of the article - you blanked the article. Just make sure that you reach out and ask for help first. Minus some exceptions, blanking articles like that is highly discouraged and will be seen by the community as disruptive, which obviously isn't your intention. To answer your other question: If you believe there is false information on the article and it is unsourced, remove it! Just explain your removal in the edit summary, and make sure that what you are removing is not sourced. What you may believe to be false may actually be true. Review any sources, and make sure that what you are doing is the right thing. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Welcome to Wikipedia! If you plan to edit long-term, you should create an account! Join us! We need contributors who want to make the project better! :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 15:37, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Izzat Hyat-Khan

Dear Oshwah, we represent the family of the late Ambassador Izzat Hyat-Khan and wanted to bring to your attention a certain User: 39.54.219.85 who claims, in communications with yourself, to "know" the late Ambassador Izzat Hyat-Khan. User 39.54.219.85 believes that it's knowledge is valid about the late Ambassador and that what it deems correct should only appear on the page. We wanted to confirm that User 39.54.219.85 is NOT known to the deceased's family and that User 39.54.219.85 is claiming false representation and/or ownership on facts and knowledge about the deceased. For your information, all information in the article has already gone through multiple iterations and validations, and has been confirmed with the deceased's direct family members, friends, former colleagues and other external resources. We'd like to inform you that we've respectfully attempted to communicate with User 39.54.219.85 here to attempt rectification of any misunderstanding about the facts in the article, however, to no avail. We'd like to request you to kindly monitor the page and to kindly discuss iterations with yourself to block maverick users from deleting, wild-editing, wiping information from the page. Sincerely, The Family of Izzat Hyat-Khan. (For additional information contact: sayyadahmadkhan@gmail.com) Khansayyad (talk) 18:18, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Khansayyad. Welcome to Wikipedia! Looking at your message as well as the article you mentioned, there are a few Wikipedia policies and guidelines that you need to be aware of. When you say that "all information in the article has already gone through multiple iterations and validations, and has been confirmed with the deceased's direct family members, friends, former colleagues and other external resources.", this kind of review process is outside of Wikipedia and does not represent how Wikipedia verifies content. Verification from other people who may be close to the person mention in the article is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. According to Wikipeida's verifiability and No original research policies, all content on Wikipedia must be attributable to a reliable source. Direct quotes, or content likely to be challenged or removed, must be directly attributed to a reliable source via a citation. Content that isn't can be challenged and removed. So long as 39.54.219.85 is not removing content that is supported by reliable sources or causing other disruption, this user is allowed to challenge and remove content.
On another note, it appears that both of you may have personal ties with the article in question. This possible fact represents a conflict of interest between you and the article. Making contributions or edits to articles where you have a conflict of interest is highly discouraged by the community, as it interferes with your ability to edit within a neutral point of view. If you want to challenge any changes to the article or express concerns, you need to discuss it in the article's talk page. Do not engage in edit warring. This is also seen as disruptive, and will result in your account being blocked - discuss things and come to a consensus. I hope this response provides you with the assistance you need. Remember: we're here to build an encyclopedia. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 18:41, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Khansayyad - you removed someone else's message from my talk page with this edit. Please be careful - removing content like that without care could have prevented this person from receiving help. Not to worry, the user added the message back to my talk page :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 18:55, 5 September 2015 (UTC) Apologies to you and the other user, our last comment erroneously appeared under an alternative header. The Family of Izzat Hyat-Khan Khansayyad (talk) 19:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for prompt attention and response. We are fully aware of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and thank you for pointing to. You'll agree, information on Wikipedia comes from direct family, friends, scholars, peers, colleagues which is far more reliable than from some random user with no ties to facts, and who falsely claims to have ties and refuses to communicate via Talk? Clearly, as you may have read the pre-deleted version, you will find that there is no conflict of interest what so ever. In fact, we have added to the original, corrected the misspelling of the deceased's name and improved upon the written text in an attempt to capture and portray the deceased and their life's accomplishments in an unbiased manner. User 39.54.219.85 has removed facts from the article without conversing with us. We are having this exchange with you for the precise reason that we DO NOT wish to engage in, nor feel the need to engage in, 'edit warring' with any random user. We support Wikipedia and what it stands for. IF the user can prove the information provided in the article is incorrect then by all means, they may engage in a conversation with us in Talk. To simply say, without pretext, that the article contains false information and state that, "I know the individual" is unacceptable. Hope this helps. Thank you and regards. Khansayyad (talk) 19:28, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi again, Khansayyad. Instead of asking, "are edits from people who know the person more reliable than edits from people who don't?", editors who fully understand Wikipedia's policies and guidelines would instead be asking "which edits are the most reliable for an encyclopedia?" - and would know the answer to that question. The addition of content with a neutral viewpoint that is attributable (or directly attributed) to secondary peer-reviewed reliable sources represent Wikipedia's verfiability standards, are the most reliable ways to add article content, and represents the way we operate, as well as challenge and remove content. It is perfectly acceptable for anyone to step forward and remove content that is questionable or isn't attributable to such sources. You state that the article contains "no conflict of interest what so ever". I don't believe that you fully understand conflict of interest. It is a behavioral guideline, not an article policy; Conflict of interest does not refer to the article, but those who edit the article. You stated earlier that "we represent the family of the late Ambassador Izzat Hyat-Khan" - this is absolutely 100% what Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline is written to discourage. You later state that "all information in the article has already gone through multiple iterations and validations, and has been confirmed with the deceased's direct family members, friends, former colleagues and other external resources", but then later state that the behavior of adding "false information and state that, 'I know the individual' is unacceptable". There is no ownership of articles; you can't add original research (at all) to an article but then, on top of that, expect others to "prove the information provided in the article". Wikipedia's policies and guidelines are a two-way street and apply to everyone. If you disagree with content or content removal, revert the edit. If it gets reverted by the other person, then discuss it and come to a consensus. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 20:15, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Naaari - Welcome to Wikipedia! Your article was nominated for speedy deletion for a few reasons. The main reason is due to the lack of notability for the organization that you created the article about. I highly recommend that you review this guideline, as it will answer most of your questions and address your concerns. On another note, I noticed that the organization's domain matches the username of your account. It appears that you are directly representing this organization and may only be here to make edits related to it. This possible fact represents a conflict of interest between you and the article. Making contributions or edits to articles where you have a conflict of interest is highly discouraged by the community, as it interferes with your ability to edit within a neutral point of view. This also contributed to the other reason that your article was nominated for speedy deletion - it appears to have mostly been written like an advertisement, not in a neutral form. I recommend that you review Wikipedia's Five Pillars, as well as the other policies I mentioned. This will provide you with good assistance with how Wikipedia works and how you can positively contribute should you decide to become a long-term editor. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 18:49, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

You just deleted an edit I made to Pablo Escobar's page, claiming it was a 'test'. I do not understand why hyou think it was a test - Pablo's son was named in the article, and I linked to the son's page. The son changed his name to try to become anonymous, but his identity is now known - that is why the link has a completely different name than 'Escobar' (if that is the reason you thought it was an edit). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.84.66.154 (talk) 22:47, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

You tagged simon ekpa for a speedy deletion and I would want to why.

The page; Simon Ekpa have been tagged for a speedy deletion by you and I would want to know why you tagged the page? Does it contain any misleading information? Or was it just unprofessionally created? I am just very curious to know why the speedy deletion tag. If there is information in content you feel is not well cited I would want to know, and probably you could help in fixing it. There have been racial comment being posted from an IP in Sweden and I was even considering a transnational suit/ and a criminal report to be file against the IP owner or for a full investigation on identifying the owner of that IP through the Interpol.

Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.76.177.14 (talk) 23:11, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, 85.76.177.14 - I was not the original person who tagged the userpage for deletion. I simply reverted an edit I made by mistake, which resulted in the removal of that tag. After being informed of my unintended edit, I reverted my change which restored the tag. Your question will be answered by reading Wikipedia's User page project content guideline. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this guideline. I'll be happy to answer them. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 00:00, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

JPR Films - you made the Kirumi (film) a redirect to the page I already redirected (and not correctly - you transcluded it). It's been restored; you don't need to do that. Everything is fine now as it is. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 19:12, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

From their attempts at blanking and copypasting, I think User:JPR Films was requesting a move from "Kirumi (film)" to "Kirumi". Which seems correct, as there's nothing else around with that title. I've requested it at WP:RMT. --McGeddon (talk) 19:24, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, McGeddon. Sounds good. When I saw the two pages, they were 99% identical from one another, so I just made Kirumi a redirect to Kirumi (film). Thanks for following up with me. Happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 19:29, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Dustintitus. Welcome to Wikipedia! Because this article is a biography of a living person, we take extra care regarding material and what needs to be sourced. This information should be added with a reliable source cited in-line with your edit. Then, you'll be good to go. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Marvin & Tamara page

Hi There,

I have added referenced links to the page yet you have removed the edits again. These are factual changes and I fail to see what more I can provide to make them legitimate.

Marvin no longer works as a recruitment consultant, and I have updated his working status accordingly. Can I ask what the problem is?

Carl

RED SANDERS

It is very well known that he died of a heart attack in a hotel room with a prostitute. The source cited by the Wikipedia article at the end of the sentence that I wrote says it. So you should not have reverted it.

I can tell you-- though this is original research and shouldn't matter in your ultimate thinking about this-- that Red Sanders' death was actually a huge media scandal in Los Angeles at the time, because initially the local newspapers tried to protect him and did not report the fact that he died in a room with a hooker, but later were forced to after out of town papers broke the story and embarrassed them.

At any rate, it is definitely relevant that he died in a hotel room with a prostitute, and it is supported by the cited authority, so I am reverting it back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.32.255.170 (talk) 22:32, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

Reversion of my edits on 23andMe?

Hi,

You reverted my edits to 23andMe as "Editing tests", which they were quite certainly not. I've reverted your reversion. I'm not sure if it was actually falsely flagged as tests or if you noticed it via some other avenue, but I suspect my change of one word to "testing" may have given the false impression to whatever tool you're using that I was, well, testing, which I was not.

Anyways, can you explain? Thanks. Garzfoth (talk) 02:12, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Garzfoth. It's a pleasure to meet you. You are correct; I saw this edit and mistakenly believed it to be a test edit. It sounds like you've already reverted my mistake. I appreciate you for leaving me a message and for bringing it to my attention. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 02:15, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Madotsuki the Dreamer

Hey, just giving you a bit of a head's up on this user. They've been blocked for harassing other users and it looks like the IP that commented on the userpage is them trying to evade a 72 hour block. (I know, right? It was a short block for acting like a fool and then they had to shoot themselves in the foot.) If you notice any other IPs posting on the userpage, let me know so I can block them. They've been escalating the harassment against the other user and it looks like I'm a target now too (sighs). I have the page on my watchlist, but another pair of eyes is always wonderful. Thanks for catching that edit! Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:14, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Tokyogirl79. It's a pleasure to meet you! Ha, no worries... I've seen harassment and block evasion/socking/proxy bouncing over far smaller things :-). I'm happy to have been able to help - I'll add your user space to my watchlist, as well as Madotsuki the Dreamer's talk page. I'll give you a shout if I see any more IPs making those kinds of edits. Hi, 74.83.112.14, and thank you for leaving me a message and for letting me know about my reversion to your edits. For the record, it's always best if you leave an explanation in the edit summary when you make any changes to an article (such as what you did here after messaging me). It lets other editors know exactly why you made the specific change that you did. Again, I appreciate you for leaving me a message and for explaining your removal of content. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 05:09, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps you can remove the content. Tried to remove it a second time listing it as being irrelevant in the explanation box and it got tagged/reverted a second time by Zntrip. 74.83.112.14 (talk) 05:18, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi again, 74.83.112.14. The best thing to do is discuss your content removal in the article's talk page and include Zntrip so that he can respond. He probably saw the removal and mistakenly thought that it wasn't constructive; it happens... no big deal :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 05:23, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Well, it is 99.9% of the time, though I’ve had a strange couple of days! An editor using a name very similar to the subject of a page I had on my watchlist made their very first edit by blanking out sections of the bio – then a second editor, also with an unmistakeably similar name, popped up. It turned out that both were indeed accounts set up by the subject of the page (he forgot the password for the first one apparently…) – but not before a lot of confusion had arisen, as you can imagine! It’s all been resolved now - a slightly sloppy but good faith edit on my part didn’t help, but it could all have been so much more smoothly managed without the conflict of interest / inadvertent sock puppetry element. I’ve never been tangled up in even a straightforward dispute before, so that was a real learning curve, shall we say…! I see from your Talk Page here that you’d be a great person to turn to in future for advice on these matters – though I’m sincerely hoping never to be near anything remotely similar again, so don’t be offended if I say that hopefully I WON’T be in touch soon :) Very best wishes – and thanks again. JezGrove (talk) 16:06, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Removed message from Talk page

You had recently removed my comment from a user's talk page. I understand you may not believe it's civil however, that user was a plague on Wikipedia. Question relating to huggle

This might sound stupid, but I noticed in the huggle IRC/chat it said "Oshwah thinks that edit on enwiki to X by XX.XX.XX.XX (XXX) is likely a vandalism, but they didn't revert it". What did you do to make it say that? I've not been able to find anything relating to it. --I am Kethrus Talk to me! 20:44, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Kethrus. It's not a stupid question at all. This occurs when I mark an edit as suspicious; it means that I don't feel 100% confident to revert as vandalism, but something smelly fishy and it flags others to take a look. You can do it by pressing the 'S' key (default shortcut), or by going to 'Page' -> 'Flag this edit as suspicious'. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any more questions. I Think You May Have Deleted My Article, I'm Sorry For Being Angry, I Have a Disease

Salutations, Oshwah When I was 14 I was diagnosed with bipolar syndrome, unfortunately this plays with my emotions quite a lot and I often do not have complete control of what I am saying/typing. The reason I lashed out and sent 2 very vulgar messages was because I did not understand why you deleted my article which I put a great deal of effort into. I would like to know why you deleted it as I now realise that there was a completely reasonable reason. if you could tell me what I did wrong I would love to contribute to this amazing website with an in-depth and informative article based on Graham Partis.

By the way this actually is Graham, my last account was krudd224, and my previous 223 accounts before that were krudd1 - krudd223. the reason I have had to make so many accounts is because of my condition which makes me lash out and results in my account being deleted/ blocked. I am extremely Sorry for the foul language and hate mail which I sent you and now that my head is clear I now know that it was wrong and will not happen again and I will not make the same mistake for the 225th time.

PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK ME C:

RfA

I think withdrawing shows good judgement. I do think you are well on the way to getting adminship, and you seem to understand where you need to work. While I personally think some editors demand too much in the way of content creation, I think most share my basic requirement that you are familiar enough to understand the difficulty of taking something bland or small, and turning it into something worth reading. I never had a GA or FA until after I became an admin, although I had a great deal of sourcing and cleanup experience. Still, the experience of going through GA twice and FA, then TFA once, taught me more than the other edits combined, and I think made me a better admin because I could empathize with those that focused on our core mission. RFA is a harsh mistress. Mine was brutal, with 31 opposers to answer to, but I squeaked through. I do understand. My advice is to get occasional mentoring from more experienced users who can help you along the way. Being an admin is a bit overrated, but we do need good admin, so I do hope you pursue the content creation and eventually seek adminship again. Dennis Brown - 10:33, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

I think you could have maybe got in through a 'crat chat, and if you listen to the oppose votes and resolve the issues addressed in them over the next 9 months or so, you should have a good shot at another RfA. To be honest, I looked through your article creations and it put a fresh perspective about how much silly vandalism creeps through the woodwork that even ClueBot NG misses and I thought "well I'm glad I don't have to do that, I'd be bored to tears". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:37, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Dennis Brown and Ritchie333. I wanted to thank you both for the encouragement and for the kind words. My RfA didn't go amazingly great, but compared to many other applications that have been shot down in the past, mine wasn't nearly as bad. I wasn't publicly embarrassed with a bad revert or an edit that came out of the skeleton closet, and the opposition was over something that I pretty much knew already (the lack of content creation / content expansion) - I just didn't expect the opposition to be so high over it. I learned quite a lot (especially regarding what I've been doing right, and what I need to work on). As much as I don't 100% necessarily agree that lack of content creation should be grounds for an oppose vote, I'll take the feedback to heart, honor it, and I'll think about applying again down the line (probably in nine months - one year from now) after I've done some content work. Thanks again, and keep in touch :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 22:37, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
That attitude will take you far. The real brutal stuff is when you become admin, it can be more than most expect. Sounds like you have a plan, I'm sure you'll do fine. I've nominated several candidate, and my advice is to always admit your shortcomings up front. That takes the wind out of the sails of those that want to harp about it. Dennis Brown - 22:56, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
I've got a brain like a sieve, but if you remind me some time in March to have a look at your contributions, I can see if we're any closer to a successful RfA then. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:58, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
Ritchie333 - Thanks a lot for offering to do this - it would be a huge help. I'll take you up on that come March of 2016 :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 14:06, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
I also wanted to say that you've handled your first RfA with grace. I was undecided on your RfA before your withdrew. If broaden your editing over the next year or so, you'd likely find fairly clear sailing on a subsequent RfA. Don't think about it too much and the time will pass with ease. From experience, I believe that a unsuccessful RfA can actually help you in the long run, I hope that you'll see the day when you know what I mean and also find it to be true. Shoedog Edit

I made the edit to the Shoedog page. I realized after I made it that I should have left a comment. Really, I think it should be deleted, but I wasn't able to do that.

I found the page form George Pelecanos' page, which indicates that it's one of his novels. Before I changed the page, it inexplicably redirected to Heather Graham. Reading the previous edits, it seems that at one time she was to star in a movie based on the book, but that seems like a pretty weak case for a redirect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Logipath (talkcontribs) 19:29, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

I decided to delete my original message when I read this: "Hatting this block of text - Possible COPYVIO pasted" Not exactly what it means but I guess my explanation in respect to your decision to revert my contribution(s) was way too long for you, which is fair. On the other hand I cannot understand why you would revert some of my contributions even when I used the original tracklisting from the cd? No hard feelings though.

Jaleshwar

You asked for the relevant source from where I uploaded fact about Jalshwar. I am myself a Local person of Jaleshwar and I have a lot of knowledge about its political, physical, social and cultural aspects. Hence, I don't need to refer any source for the information. I jsut wanted to upload those facts so that more people can know about Jaleshwar.

Therefore, you should restore the information that you have removed. The total Area of Jaleshwar is mathematically calculated by myself which is also right. I tried to find it in some official document but no measurement has been done so far. Hence my measurement of area is the first and is accurate as well as I used all my mathematical and Physical knowledge — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sanjeet Choudhary (talkcontribs) 10:07, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

You edited my wikipedia entry rather heavily, cutting out some material that I thought added to the entry and I'm not sure why? A few weeks back someone added some sarcastic inappropriate content that I was able to cut out. Also, within the last week or so the photo of me presenting at the National Book Festival was removed sans my permission or understanding (I think it's a nice pic, I have permission to use it etc,so I'm confused as to why it's gone. I didn't post my Wikipedia entry, a fellow author friend did and I was delighted. I like the contents page you've added and the chopping up sections by category, but I'm confused by some of the other changes? My email is ttrueman1215@msn.com I'm not sure when/if / how/whether you will even respond to this message, but I hope you do. 2601:602:C600:DAD4:CD72:9209:F481:6C8C (talk) 20:46, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, 2601:602:C600:DAD4:CD72:9209:F481:6C8C. I assume that you're referring to the Terry Trueman article. The reason I removed content from this article was due to the fact that the text I deleted was copied straight from other websites. This represents a potential copyright issue, as the article contained information copied directly from other websites and without their permission to do so. Wikipedia's policy on copyrights will provide you with additional information regarding this issue, and the image issue that you mentioned. If I am reading your message correctly, this article is about you. If this is correct, being directly (or even indirectly) involved with an article about yourself represents a conflict of interest, which is behavior that is highly discouraged by the Wikipedia community. This is because of the fact that it potentially removes your ability to contribute to such content in a neutral point of view. For example, I do not discuss, edit, or otherwise have any involvement with articles regarding where I live, my place of employment, or even where I grew up or went to school. I have personal ties with these articles, and therefore, it would be inappropriate for me to do so. I hope that my response points you in the correct direction. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or respond if you have any more questions. It looks like you found the tilde keys just fine :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 01:05, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

No Subject

Hello, Oshwah,

You reverted a change I'd made and I have absolutely no trouble with that, but what got my attention was the ClueBot saying there was an obscenity involved. I've no idea what the poor confused little thing is talking about, but I want to make it clear there should not have been anything even remotely like an obscenity. I'm a professor of medicine at a recognizable university and I can imagine few things more likely to risk a career. So please, counsel your pets about interpretation, and if you have any hint about what it read as an obscenity I'd be interested to learn. // Thanks, Eric — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rasmussene (talkcontribs) 07:11, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

I mis-read the ClueBot

Hello, Oshwah,

A few minutes ago I noted your reversion and asked about the ClueBot mention of an obscenity. That ClueBot note was from 2010. My apologies. Ignore all of that. And I now know the purpose of a tilde key. You must be a remarkably patient man. Thanks for your attention. Eric Rasmussen, MD, MDM, FACP (talk) 07:22, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Eric Rasmussen, MD, MDM, FACP, no problem. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any more questions or concerns in the future. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 01:33, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Rubbish computer. Thank you for taking the time to leave this barnstar for me. It means a lot. I apologize for taking so long to thank you; I've been busy, out sick, and out for other reasons. It's a pleasure to run into you again, and I'll see you out there! :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 01:35, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Rubbish computer. Indeed I am. A flu bug has been going around the office where I work. It was only a matter of time until I caught it :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 10:46, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Defaming a company via wikipedia

Hello, I can see somebody deliberately trying to defame a firm misusing wikipedia.. I was just removing false information..Its ridiculous , the firm is no more existing ..Having rights to revert the cganges, you can still revert changes..but that doesnt mean that is true.. .I was one of their employee from the biginning .I never heard of any such allegations till its wind up... Note that there are so many ( 100+ employees laid off and few of them were terminated also .. it can be any one of them who is editing the page.
