Neuvillers (Libramont-Chevigny)
[edit]Neuvillers is a village in the Belgian county of Libramont-Chevigny, situated in the Walloon district in the province of Luxembourg. Before the fusion of the counties in 1977, it was part of the county of Recogne. The inhabitants are named “Les Tchets”, the Walloon word for cats. It rimes with the Walloon name of the village “a Nûvyè, c’èst dès Tchèts.” The name “Tchèts” also stands for the bier produced there “la chatte”.
Geography
[edit]Neuvillers is located 2 km in the south-west of Libramont and 2 km from the E411/A4 highway, exit 25.
Community life
[edit]In the village, there is a soccer team from the Royal Amical Club Neuvillers (RACN), the Royal Amicable Club, and a youth club. The RACN has a fan club called: The Blacks Army. There is a fishing pond and private one. The village is twinned with Neuvillers-sur-Fave, another village located in France. Each year, Neuvillers receives la fête des vignerons, the winemaker party.
