History
[edit]In 1882, Carlo Arnstein, a foreign from a italian family from Trieste created a brand that exported coffee primarely from Brazil.
In 1938, Hans Arnstein, Carlo Arnstein's son, that was later renamed to João de Arnstein and naturalized as a Brazillian, created a company called Construções Eletromecânicas Brasileiras Ltda. Materiais Elétricos, that specialized on the manufacturing and selling of electric motors.
The company participated on the early stages of industrialization of Brazil, having the city of São Paulo as a entry point.
In 1944, the later Construções Eletromecânicas Brasileiras merged with Intermares, Brasselva e Siltex forming Empresas Reunidas e Comércio Arno S.A. After that Arno was created with only 10.000 (ten thousand) cruzeiros with the company name being a inspiration from the fact that Carlo Arnstein wrote the name Arno on every bag of coffee he comercialized
In 1949, the design of Arno products were made by the american company Sears, Roebuck & Co and their products were already being comercialized.
In 1952, the stocks from the company started being quoted on the old Brazillian Stock Exchange.
In 1957, João de Arnstein died and his son, Felippe Arno took the role as the president of Arno.
In 1961 the company began exporting blenders to the EU (European) market.
In 1964, Arno associated with Asea Industrial S/A to improve the production rate of their products
In 1965 the company began to export blenders to more Latin American countries.In 1971
In 1971, Arno was a associated of Delco Remy and Delco Electronics, comercializing automotive products.
In 1975, Arno bought the Brazilian division of Skil, a company that produced electric drills and other products. With this aquisition, Arno was the first company to produce electric drills on Brazil. Currently Skil is a company of Bosh group.
Em 1992, a empresa deixou de fabricar peças automobilísticas.
In 1994 the company got the quality seal ISO 9001.
In 1997, Arno was bought by Groupe SEB, a electro portable french conglomerate that is leader on this segment.
In late 2017, the company left Cambuci and established on Itatiaia, allegating operational and logistics problems.
