The Howling is a series of horror films based upon the books of the same name by Gary Brandner. The films loosely abridge the books The Howling, The Howling II, and The Howling III: Echoes, as well as introducing new plot lines and characters. The first film, The Howling, was released in 1981 and is considered to be a cult classic.
