Sodali Ltd. is a global consultancy specializing in corporate governance, shareholder transactions and institutional investor relations services. It was founded in 2006 by a group of industry experts in response to the growing need for a player combining extensive global investor knowledge with understanding of local jurisdiction protocols, cross-border mechanics and corporate governance best practices.
Sodali with a team of more than 50 people is located among the following offices: London, New York, Copenhagen, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Rome, Sao Paulo and its partnerships in Tokyo, Moscow, Mexico City, Lima and Beijing.
Ethimology
[edit]Sodali’s name derives from the Latin sodalis, meaning friend or companion.
It also embraces several inherent meanings: from suedh, a word of indo-Germanic origin, come the concepts of home, place of common domicile, association, participation and solidarity, while the term also expresses the idea of the contribution of a friend or companion to an initiative and the shared interest inherent in the concept of association (which sees several players participating in the same initiative) as well as, finally, the ethical idea of solidarity in terms of sharing the results of a common initiative.
The parabola formed by the accent on the ‘a’ echoes the dialectic between a Proxy company and its customers, the particularly participatory contribution of a player appointed to guide a delicate moment of decision making relative to corporate initiatives in which it also participates.
