One Friday afternoon in Midwinter 2023, I got an urgent email from Canberra asking for a response to an investigation another government entity was making. I researched the question, and drafted up a response. I anticipated follow-up questions that might be asked and answered them, I cut out internal jargon to make sure it was understandable by its target audience, selected a few pertinent graphics to illustrate the text, hyperlinked relevant publicly available legislation and other information and so on. After about two and a half hours, I sent my response off.

On Monday afternoon the next week I got an email back thanking me for my comprehensive response, and saying that the other government entity was satisfied that they could discontinue the investigation.

My submission was five sentences long.
