Richard Boes (October 8, 1949–February 21, 2009) was an American actor, novelist and playwright.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Boes chronicled the post-traumatic stress disorder he suffered in his books The Last Dead Soldier Left Alive and Last Train Out. He was working on the third novel in the trilogy, In the Valley of Dry Bones, before he died on February 21, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, New York.
He is perhaps best remembered as a frequent collaborator of auteur director Jim Jarmusch and as one of the first of the Sons of Lee Marvin. His sixteen-year acting career began in 1980 with Jarmusch's Permanent Vacation, and he appeared in each of the director's following five features.
