He received a BPI[2] award for his writing on "Chase The Sun"[3], and a FIMI award for his production of Dirty Vegas's Let The Night EP[4]. His production of “Feels Like Home" with Dino Lenny and Meck was used by Madonna on her Sticky & Sweet Tour[5]. He has released his own music with Mr Hudson[6], Dario G[7], Dino Lenny[8][9], and Alex Whitcombe[10], and as Taz[11], remixing for Missy Elliot and Timbaland[12]. He has also created music and sound design for companies such as Coca Cola, Citibank, and Nissan. His sound has been described as a signature blend of dance meets pop/indie.[13][14]

Writing and Production

[edit]

Simon began his writing career with "Chase The Sun"[3], which reached number 4 in the UK charts[15]. It became the darts national anthem in the UK and is universally known as "the darts song".[16][17] It was used by Scooter in his track J'adore Hardcore[18] which reached 45 million views on youtube.

After an initial stint writing music for adverts at Amber Music, he joined Z Management[19] and started writing relationships with Dino Lenny, Paul Harris, Mr Hudson, Sam Young, and Horsemeat Disco.

Simon wrote an album with Paul Harris featuring collaborations with the Scissor Sisters, Mr Hudson, Sam Sparro[20], Dragonette, and Little Boots. A song from this project, "One Night Lover"[21], gained over 11 million streams on Spotify.

In 2007 Simon formed a band called Asteroids[22], with Jon Nowell of FC Kahuna and Rory Connaghan of XVectors. As Asteroids he wrote with and remixed Caged Baby and remixed Ali Love, Armend Van Helden, and Mika, among others. That year Asteroids played major festivals including Bestival, Camp Bestival, and Secret Garden Party.

In 2011 he produced and mixed a Ministry Of Sound 20th Anniversary Box Set[1].

With Dirty Vegas, Simon's production of the album Electric Love[23] entered the US iTunes Dance Album chart at no.3[24]. The album produced three US dance chart hits[25]. His production on the Let The Night[3][13] EP reached gold status in Italy[4], and reached number 4 on the US iTunes Dance Album charts[26]. His production on their Photograph[3][27] album included a cover of Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer" which reached top ten in the Italian dance charts in 2015[28] and was endorsed by Simon Le Bon[29], the lead singer of Duran Duran. Billboard Magazine named Dirty Vegas as the No.6 “Best Selling Electronic Artists of the Decade”[30].

Simon co wrote and produced Buchanan's[31] Pressure in an Empty Space[14] with Josh Simons, the founder of Vampr[32]. The lead single from the album, "Coming Down"[33], reached number 29 in the UK's Music Week Commercial Pop Charts[34], and the album debuted at 42 in the Australian iTunes chart. One of the album's songs was nominated for an international song writing award, and another was shortlisted in the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition.
