Scotty Maurice Pippen Jr. (born March 12, 1998) is an American college basketball player for the Vanderbilt Commodores of the Southeastern Conference. He is the second son of retired Hall of Fame basketball player Scottie Pippen.

Early Life

Pippen was born in Chicago, IL on March 12, 1998 to Scottie Pippen and Larsa Younan. He has one older half-brother, Antron, two younger brothers, Preston Jr. and Justin, and one younger sister, Sophia.

At the age of twelve, Pippen and his family moved from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, where he attended and played basketball at the American Heritage School in nearby Plantation.

College Career

In January 2016, Pippen committed to Vanderbilt University.

During his freshman year, Pippen, under first-year head coach Bryce Drew, lead the Commodores to a 19-16 record and a three-way tie for fifth place in the SEC. They defeated Texas A&M and Florida in the SEC Tournament before losing to Arkansas in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost in the Round of 64 to Northwestern. Pippen received selections to the All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Freshman Team for his stellar performance during the season. In April 2017, Pippen declared for the NBA Draft.

National Team Career

In May 2014, Pippen was among the 32 players who earned an invitation to the training camp at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the USA U-18 national team in preparation for the 2014 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship. Pippen won a gold medal with the national team.
