Which article are you evaluating?

Infection

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

I chose the topic of Infection because it is connected to topic of medicine, which I am invested in. It also relates to Microbiology, which got me more interested as it is the class that I am currently taking.

It also was a C class, which will give me more space to evaluate on.

Evaluate the article

[edit]

Everything in the article is relevant to the article topic and there weren't any content that distracted me. There were few references from the early 1900's which can be revisited and reevaluated to check if the information is still valid today. Most of them, however, seemed to be a historical record, which is completely acceptable. There could be more references to support the section of Diagnosis in the article. The Epidemiology data needs to be updated especially with recent pandemic.

The article had has a neutral tone, however, most of the information is given from a western point of view, listing mainly western history and scientists. The prevention section may need more attention in the article.

The links of the citations I checked seems to be working and supporting. Many of the resources were prints. The references were mostly scientific articles and records, which seemed to be appropriate and reliable references. Majority of the articles were published in the Untied States, which can result in a limited perspective. However, they are published from various organizations.

The article is a part of WikiProjects and is currently rated a C rank. The Wikipedia discusses the topic with more intensity, resources, and diversity in ideas than how we talk about the topic in class. In class, we rarely share ideas, as we are there to learn a given information.
