Andrew Kapner is an American record producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Kapner has a long musical background and has worked on records with artists such as Bomba Estereo, Twenty One Pilots, Jason Derulo, Shoshanna Bean and DJ Colette.[1][2][3][4]
For his engineering contribution to Bomba Estereo's "Fiesta" track, he received a 2015 Latin Grammy nomination under the Record of the Year category.[5]
Career
[edit]Kapner started his music career at the age of 15 playing keys for popular 80s band The BusBoys.
He has also scored music for film and television.[6]
Kapner produced the debut album for Anuhea Jenkins. A Hawaiian contemporary folk rock singer songwriter. The album was released in April of 2009 and in 2010 won a Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Contemporary Album of the Year.[7] Right Love, Wrong Time, a single from the album, was picked as iTunes (USA) single of the week. [8]
In 2005 he collaborated on the production of Hypnotized, DJ Colettes debut album. Hypnotized, the first track on the album was one of the most downloaded dance songs on iTunes that year.[9][10]
In 2015 he engineered tracks including Heavy Dirty Soul, Ride, Tear In My Heart on Twenty One Pilots Blurryface album. The album won a Billboard award for Top Rock Album. [11][12]
