Informationism / Dataism

[edit]

Hi, Çıtır Kuruyemiş. I've reverted your move of Dataism to Informationism since I think it required discussion. This is fine! We have something called the Bold. You've been bold. I've reverted. Now we can discuss! Please look at the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves for how to start a formal discussion about the article's title. I'm happy to lend any help needed in setting that up.

I do want to note two important things, though:

  • You said in your move summary that "Dataism" is the term used in most Turkish-language sources. That may well be the case, but under our policy on "common names" for articles' titles, we use the name most commonly used in English-language sources, since this is the English-language Wikipedia.
  • When you changed instances of "informationism" to "dataism" in the article, it looks like you changed the contents of some quotes and citations. Please do not do this. Quotes should always use the original terms, even if the article uses a different term.

I hope that makes sense. Again, please let me know if you have any questions. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 15:47, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
