Information icon Hello, I'm FenrisAureus. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Old Swedish have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. — FenrisAureus (she/they) (talk) 23:59, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They are constructive. Low German is a different language from German, therefore the immigrant speakers are not German speakers, they are Low German speakers. 2A02:A44F:51E4:1:9C61:FCB1:449C:63AA (talk) 11:56, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then please provide references suppporting this specification per WP:VERIFY. TylerBurden (talk) 14:18, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The reference is already present on the page. The sentence before and after says: "The Middle Low German language also influenced Old Swedish..." Sentence after: "... entered the Swedish language directly from Low German..."
Thus, they were Low German speakers, not German speakers. German speakers implies the speakers south of Benrather Line, High German. Low German aka Low Saxon is not High German. 2A02:A44F:51E4:1:9C61:FCB1:449C:63AA (talk) 14:46, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
