Genre editing

[edit]

Wikipedia writes according to what reliable sources say. This is doubly so with subjective things like genre. We go by what sources say, not our personal theories (which violate WP:OR/WP:SYNTH.) Feel free to remove unsourced genre, but any additions of unsourced genre, or your removal of genre from reliable sources, are going to be continued to be undone. (See WP:RSMUSIC and WP:NOTRSMUSIC for a list of commonly acceptable or unacceptable sources. Sergecross73 msg me 16:59, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Live Consternation, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 17:36, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to the page New Model Army (band) contains an edit summary that appears to have triggered the edit filter. The summary may have contained inappropriate text such as a highly repetitive character sequence, profanity, gibberish, or all-caps. Please use appropriate edit summaries to tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. If your summary did not contain such text, please report it to the false positives page and remove this message. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 17:40, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Live Consternation; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 17:44, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
