Repeated insertion of unsourced material

[edit]

Hello. I noticed you reinstated several sections of text like this to Singapore election articles. The reasons it was removed were:

  1. The figure is unsourced
  2. In many cases it was written inappropriately (you failed to insert a space after the previous full stop and generally it's not considered a good idea to start a sentence with a number)
  3. In many cases it was added to the introduction, where it seems to be an inappropriate level of detail.

If you can provide a source for this and can write it correctly, I would have no problem with this being added, but I would advise doing so in the results section, not the introduction. Cheers, Number 57 17:32, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited East Coast Group Representation Constituency, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page PAP. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Editing concerns on Aljunied GRC

[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia, AJSKWP82.

I note your interest in making edits to the GRC pages of Singapore, and thank you for your contributions. However, I do express concern that your minor edits are frequently numerous and also lacking an edit summary, which means the history pages are unnecessarily cluttered, especially for Aljunied, which you have taken an interest more so than the others. This makes it hard for page watchers to patrol the pages for inaccurate information or vandalism.

Do note there's nothing wrong with your editing - I would just like to recommend you to use the preview button more often before saving the edit, and leaving appropriate edit summaries. Also, as I have undone a few times, Leader of the Opposition is a normal job title, like prime minister, secretary-general, or president, and when not in used as a title with a name in front (ie Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh), it should not be capitalised. I would like to recommend for you to reedit the page for Aljunied again, as the title does not need to be capitalised.

Lastly, as the pages are assumed to be current, there's no need to put "Currently". "Aljunied GRC is led by Pritam Singh, leader of the opposition and Workers' Party chief" is perfectly acceptable. The use of the word currently would also necessitate a comma in any case, which disrupts the flow of the sentence unnecessarily. Seloloving (talk) 04:50, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:JOBTITLES

[edit]

Hello AJSKWP82, please stop capitalizing appointments unnecessarily. Per Wikipedia's manual of style, appointments are only capitalised if used as a title preceding a name ("Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat/Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh). If the appointment is referred to individually ("elected as deputy prime minister/has served as the minister of finance"), it should not be capitalised.

Please have a read of MOS:JOBTITLES. You may ping me for any further questions. Thank you. Seloloving (talk) 14:49, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
