JoJo episode listing
I thought that reverting your edit would fix the template on the episode listing, but it didn't seem to work after I refreshed it. I wonder where we could have went wrong in the coding... GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 09:45, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- i am trying to solve a problem a Linter error (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:LintErrors/stripped-tag?namespace=0 ) apparently with the way the inclusion of the episode list is done. Not sure why. If I doesn't succeed, i will revert my edits. Sorry for any inconvenience Afernand74 (talk) 09:48, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Afernand74: No, no, actually I think it worked. For some reason when I originally refreshed the List of page the code was still broken and I had failed to see your new edit at that moment of my own editing which did not help the situation, so it was just a simple misunderstanding at that point on my part. Thanks!--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 09:53, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Small request with Wikitables
Hello! Great work on correcting the many <center> tag lint errors across Wikipedia. I've been seeing the number of those greatly reduce from article space in the past few weeks (16k down to under 5k!) and am glad someone is helping with those.
I need to make one small request of you though. When you are correcting <center> lint errors within wikitables, would you keep table defining parameters on one line like this instead of separating them to two lines with a line break (aka hitting enter) as you did here ? Separating them to two lines creates a fostered content lint error as it thinks the second line is content that needs to be displaying in the table, and not as another set of table parameters spilling to a second row. I've run across a few articles you fixed in which this issue was introduced, and thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks, and best wishes! Zinnober9 (talk) 21:20, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this out. I am using a script but i was not aware of this potential problem. I will be more careful. Afernand74 (talk) 20:08, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
Albanians
We were editing Albanians at the same time. When I saved, it seems to have undid some of your edits. It would probably be easiest for you to enter your edits again. Anomalocaris (talk) 06:42, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

Notes when fixing center tags
Hey! Thanks for the work on reducing the amount of linter errors, it's appreciated. I noticed your name come up frequently while going through a couple of broken {{center}}s, so I thought I'd leave you a quick note. It's always a good idea to preview your edits to make sure there are no issues when fixing these things. You seem to be doing these edits with the help of a script, and a common problem when replacing center tags this way are the parameters being broken in the template version. For example, in a case like {{center|<span style="color:red">Test</span>}}
, MW will attempt to interpret this as the parameter <span style
being equal to "color:red">Test</span>
, ultimately leading to no text being displayed. A simple way to fix this is to put 1=
at the start of the line. Some examples from you include Special:Diff/1121274209 and Special:Diff/1121092932.
If you're not sure if it might be broken, you can look at the hidden categories in Show preview. If you see the categories Pages using center with unknown parameters or Pages using center with no arguments, there's an issue in one of the center templates that needs some attention. Don't worry, this is just a quick notice - any bad cases from before I've already fixed. Aidan9382 (talk) 13:17, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will be more cautious when dealing complex text like the ones you corrected. Afernand74 (talk) 14:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
More notes on fixing center tags
Thanks for all your lint repair work, it's helping reduce the total number of errors. But you are making the occasional mistake. Have a look at this page after you edited it earlier today. The "Honours" section and what follows is corrupted. {{center}} won't work here – all that is needed is to add |align=center
to {{International goals header}}. You made a similar mistake here last week.
We all make mistakes, and I'm no exception, but you should preview your edits before saving them. What also helps is to recheck the page for linter errors before you save – often mistakes generate new errors. Finally, I always put pages I repair on my watchlist for 1 week. This alerts me to any mistakes I may have made when someone else fixes them. —Bruce1eetalk 18:06, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
